Sneak Peak.

Requiem Academy’s Grand Hall buzzed with nerves and magic as the first years gathered in. The morning sunlight spilled through the towering stained glass, each pane shimmering with the symbol of the five great guilds. Today was the guild sorting trials, the school’s first true measure of power and skill. As the first-year students entered, some nervously wrung their hands, while others walked with confident smiles, all of them aware of the high stakes.

Valt stood gripping a glowing orb that had been given to him, his knuckles white as his stomach twisted into knots.

“Ok Valt, you got this… it's just a really really really important test,” he said to himself, trying to calm himself down. “Totally fine, normal even, no pressure at all.”

Rantaro stood beside him. “You really need to calm down, Spikes, you freaking out is freaking me out too.”

“I’m sorry, it's not like my whole school career here at requiem depends on this test.”
          Valt said sarcastically.

“Well if you're gonna freak out, do it in your head, I’m tired of shooing away thunder clouds.”

Valt looked up to see a giant cloud over his head, thundering with magic energy.

“Oh oops, sorry Honcho.” Valt said, shooing it away.
          –
The lights dimmed down and focused in the center as a burst of magic appeared, revealing Headmaster Theodore Glass. The crowd stilled instantly.

His voice boomed with confidence and poise, echoing through the halls. “Welcome, First Years! Each of you shall prove yourselves to your potential guilds. Let the trials begin. ”

Sigils lit up the hall, a deep red for Arcane, showing off runes with poise. A vibrant purple for Evocation, bursting with power. A leafy green for Elemental sprouting green vines, hard stone, and bright fire. An incandescent yellow for Alchemy, with a yellow flask dripping with a glowing liquid, and a vivid blue for Conjuration, summoning glimpses of bizarre creatures.

Valts stared in awe. “How do I even pick one?”

A groan and a loud slap could be heard from Chromacrest Hall Suite 683 Room A.

“Five more minutes”. Valt Aoi said fumbling to get the alarm clock off.

          Then it hit him.

“AHHHH!!! I’M GOING TO BE LATE.” Valt said, rushing to get ready.

Valt was scrambling around the suite trying to get his things together. Using a spell to brush his hair and teeth. Struggling to put on his uniform and was looking for his headband.
