Take some time to read this beautiful short story, both poetic and relatable. A young man trying to overcome writer's block in the face of many tragic memories and a history of successes - you will surely see parts of yourself in this character. Who hasn't faced that blank page with a sense of inadequacy? Beautifully and powerfully written. A must read.

A totally satisfying look into the life story of one of the writers I respect most on Wattpad. A memoir is a very special invitation into a person's world, intimate and warm, and as promised this series of anecdotes and reflections had me laughing and crying and laughing again. Reminiscent of Robert Fulghum, these stories were an absolute pleasure, and I feel fortunate to have been invited to read them. It's not often you get to hear tales from a favourite author's own life. Be sure to check them out. ☺️

Read all of Doug Ott's poetry. Listen to his spoken word vids, he's a hurricane in a microphone. A dissected heart bleeding raw powerful lines onto the page for you to read. The essence of raging against the dying of the light.

Don't go gentle. Rage, young man! Rage!

Oh boy, are you in for a treat. This whimsical, wonderful world is just chock full of places to experience. With flavours of J.M. Barrie and Dickens, Matthew and the Chimney Sweeps is a delight. The underground world imagined here is rich in its own history. A clever and truly satisfying read. I can't wait for Book Two.

This is the second book I've read by John Uri, and again I am captivated by his passion for stories of the sea and those who sail them. I'm excited that this is the beginning of a series. Having greatly enjoyed the Hornblower books and the wonderful Richard Bolitho series, this was of course something I'd appreciate and I think you will too.

Another deeply touching and well-crafted work of poetic narrative by a masterful storyteller. I'm not overstating. This story is wonderful. The characters are so familiar, you'll think you know them, and by story's end, you'll hate to say goodbye. I promise. Also, constant reflections on a seriously influential tv program that should exist. Why is Tales After the Bomb not an actual animated series. It feels so real. I just want it to be real and on Crunchyroll so I can watch every episode, even the last few seasons because you kinda have to. This novel is magical. A beautiful terrible tribute to our misspent youth. Must read.
