It’s been years since I last spent my time fighting or clarifying things on social media. Back in my teenage days, I got caught up in it—especially in discussions (and arguments) about Indian epics. Looking back now, I see much of it as wasted energy.
Today, I’m not here to give advice, but to share an experience—especially for the younger ones. Social platforms are only becoming more powerful with time. They can be a boon or a bane; the difference lies entirely in how you choose to use them. Never let a platform control your thoughts or manipulate your beliefs. And above all—never stop thinking, no matter what anyone says or does. Getting influenced or not about anything should entirely be in your power - your choice to make.
Let me be candid again—every character in the Mahabharata is grey, except Krishna and his Shaktis, of course. What makes the Pandavas “Devas” is not merely their divine origin, but their ability to learn from their flaws and rise to the occasion when it mattered. The same goes for their wives—human in their imperfections, yet unshakable in their strength and their stand for what was right.
In the epic, Arjuna’s flatters to cause pain to his elders who wronged him and his family, Bhima says he would burn Yudhishthira’s palms, Yudhishthira lashes out at Arjuna recklessly in the war , Bhima almost drinking of Dussassan's blood ( he didn't ) , Yudhisthira playing the dice game —and the list goes on. These are emotional tides, nothing more. One moment, one situation, does not define any person as good or bad. Every human being is layered - choices, mistakes, learnings, and redemption.
Of all , the Devas themselves make flaws but they are divine only because they relentessly come back to the path of Dharma.
Always look at the full arc— circumstances , emotions ( pre and post of the actual incident ) —before you form your own thoughts. And most importantly, make sure those thoughts are TRULY YOURS ❤️
