This account was created to raise awareness to the people in history who had their voices stolen.
They say the winner of the war writes the story, that is far too true and it needs to change.

In Canada we pride ourselves on our diversity. We accept people of all races here.
It wasn't always that way. Thousands of Aboriginal children were taken away from their family's for decades up until the 1960's to go to residential school where they were forced to learn to live a white culture, not even allowed to speak their own languages. Many of these children were mistreated.
This was an attempt to make our nation white. And it is disgusting and needs to be taught to future generations.
To share stories about residential school add the tag #CanadianHolocaust

The way aboriginal people were treated in Canada is not the only time people have been treated like this genocide attempt has been made, think about all the people murdered by Hitler and the nazi's. or all the people being forced to flee from Syria because of what the believe or refuse to believe.

Unseen injustice needs to be exposed. Use #GenocideAwareness to share your stories of injustice to people groups of history or modern day. Some of these stories will be featured on this page.

Each month we will feature a different people group. Send us a private message to suggest a group or to share your people's history
