@Cool05guy2000 right. In my headcanon: after being seemingly crushed by rubble upon being defeated, metheus wakes up and finds himself in London (the main protagonists hometown). He was angry upon seeing that the world is still full of humans, but he also developed a locked on hatred for the main characters for foiling his plan to wipe out the human race. However, he entered the mansion where the main protagonist lived in and fooling the protagonists mother by pretending to be his friend. That was before the main protagonist returns home, and when he and his father entered the mansion, they find metheus sitting on a couch talking to the protagonists mother. Then metheus pretends to be friendly, even when he clearly hates him
