I think the only writing advice that has ever truly stayed with me, is you are not using people's names as much as you think you are. It seems like a lot when you're writing, but it isn't. You don't need to use 'the blond' or 'the taller' every sentence, you can just use their name. It's fine. And i think about that whenever i write and it's right. 

I love how all the comments my friend gets on his fics are so meaningful and thought out and mine ar usually just 'submerge urself in hot sauce and glass' because i killed a character

Im sorry but it is so painfully obvious when americans try and write harry potter fanfiction- the overuse of what they think british slang is and the insistence of saying 'prick' instead of cock is just so forced bruh. for the love of god stop using arse and bollocks every fucking sentence.
