//Watched the trailer for Wakanda Forever and it gave me some muse for this kid. That said enjoy this headcannon I have. 


I deeply feel like Bapoto never entirely had to come out to M'Baku as pan. He probably didn't realize that was a thing, so one point it's "Oh this boy is really cute, Papi, and he has such great humor" to "This girl is the love of my life" to "The Non-binary person in my group is so sweet, they make my heart flutter" and M'Baku just embraces it all. 

Further addition: When he was just adjusting to normal society decently, he definitely at some point or another declared he had a boyfriend. Just a childhood crush but still.

Like trying to find some for this kid is exceedingly difficult. I've found 3-4 decent ones while searching on and off all day.

Bapoto beamed brightly and excitedly at the question, holding it up, "A rock! Special rock! Papi says it has healing powers!" he chirped, moving closer to Bucky, only mildly aware of him having days were he hurts, why it was he didn't know, but still, he held it out to him.

      Bucky smiled faintly, tilting his head and kneeling down. “Oh, yeah?” He was a little hesitant to believe that, but then, here he was in the most technologically advanced country in the world with the knowledge that apparently magic was real. “Oh— for me? That’s real sweet, pal. Thanks.”

Bapoto nodded all the more eager, explaining further, "Uh huh! I think it's kinda like the smelly good sticks that calm you down," he figured though, since the sticks worked fine when lit, the colorful rock should too. His seeming never-ending excitement grew even more at his intentions of gifting it to Bucky was understood and the other seemed to like it, "You're welcome!" he paused then added, tone becoming a bit sad, "Know you have days where you hurt real bad, I hope it helps, so you won't hurt anymore! Don't like it when friends hurt."

Bapoto was dazed only for a moment at the fall but just as eagerly bounced back with seeming boundless amounts of energy, not even seeming to notice the minor scratch his knee now had, "I'm ok!!" he assured, "Jus' excited! Excited!"

T’Challa chuckled to himself, shaking his head fondly as he reached out for his hand. M’Baku had some serious business to settle in his tribe that he didn’t want Bapoto to bear witness to, afraid it would get violent and traumatize the poor boy, so T’Challa was watching him. “Are you, now?”

Bapoto seemed to hesitate a moment before gladly taking the king's hand, an excited skip in his step, joy replacing the mere moment of uncertainty. This was certainly a plus to all the tribes coming together, it meant Bapoto could become a little more accustom to the other tribes of Wakanda, including the king himself. He nodded eagerly, offering a gentle tug to T'Challa's hand, "Yes! Ya! Excited to exploreee!" he insisted, eyes lighting up at the mere thought. He was a very easily curious little boy, "Y-you like to exploree tooo?"
