Long version bio -
An award-winning writer and Director of the Oxford Flash Fiction Prize. My collection 'This is (not about) David Bowie' was published by Retreat West and received a special mention in the Saboteur Awards for Best Short Story Collection in 2019. In 2021, I was awarded DYCP Arts Council funding for my novel in progress, Burning down the house, which I am publishing here.

I've been lucky enough to have been published in numerous publications and shortlisted for a variety of awards. I even have stories soaring the skies thanks to a short story vending machine, and gracing pillows in a hotel in Indonesia. Stories in Bare Fiction, Halo, The Fiction Desk, Popshot, National Flash Fiction Day anthologies, and many more.

I was named after the explorer and travel writer Freya Stark, and I've been following in her footsteps by taking epic journeys too. Whether that's cycling the Danube for hundreds of miles or walking the West Highland Way, I'm always on the lookout for a new adventure, fictional or real.
