Guys, help-- One of our teachers gave us a movie to watch and then write a text about. So far so good. The movie was about a boy who ran away from home because he didn't want to see his father because he was absent, and only started calling his son after his mother died of cancer. Then the boy arrives at a 'hotel' that is actually a scam and he was scammed by someone on the internet. But the old man who lived in the house was kind and let him stay. Then the next day the old man invites him to eat with him. (Note: The old man always talked about a 'traveling friend' he had.) Then, in the middle of their conversation, the boy asked about his traveling friend because he was curious, and believe it or not, the old man's friend was Jesus. I had already stopped listening, don't get me wrong, but this religious stuff isn't for me. Then the boy says, 'Ah, but I don't know if I believe in this story about Jesus and such.' Then the old man came and said, 'It's because you think he took your mother?' *Dead rose emoji* then the old man starts talking about Jesus and how he would make the boy happy and so on.
then for SOME REASON the next day the boy decides to go back home, to see his father, then I ask myself, WHY????? BRO HIS FATHER DIDN'T EVEN CARE ABOUT HIM, AND PROBABLY JUST WANTED HIM BACK TO WORK AT THE COMPANY HE OWNED, Then you come and tell me that just a little talk about Jesus made the guy come back and abandon the trip to Chile he had planned? OH, DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH?? And that made me much more uncomfortable and angry than it should have been, since my father is a miserable, cuckolded son of a bitch, and I hope he dies.
Then at the end, the professor says, "This movie was for people who have problems with their father or family." Then he says the movie conveys some messages, and one of those messages is to forgive others. MAN, HOW AM I GOING TO FORGIVE MY FATHER, WHO IS A MF AND WHO PROBABLY ABUSED ME IN MY CHILDHOOD??
A rant because I can't believe what I saw.
