Here's the story, it's a sci-fi one: It was 1941, the war had been waging on for five years, Kostya sat in his trench with the rest of his company. Sooner or later the Germans would have invaded Russia.
“Kostya!” His comrade, George, called out. Kostya got up and met him.
“What is it?”
“Lieutenant Katsen wants you, it's urgent.” George gasped. Kostya quickly ran past him and saw Katsen talking with other high ranking officers.
“Sir.” Kostya saluted with George saluting as well. “Good, quickly, follow me.” Katsem walked down to the basement, which was used for cover against artillery strikes. There were a couple of other high rankings waiting as well.
“Corporal George and Sergeant Kostya, we found a German trench 156 kilometers away from here.”
“What do you want us to do?” George asked, looking at the map.
“You’re going to bomb it, set up explosives inside it.”
Both Kostya and George were astonished.
“With what? Sir, it will take us about 18 hours to get there! And didn’t you say that there were German snipers here?” Kostya asked as he pointed at the map.
“Nonsense! The snipers had already been cleared out! We’ll be arming you with the British mill bomb. Dismissed.”
Kostya wanted to argue but Geroge patted his shoulder, it was enough, Kostya and George then walked out of the basement. Katsen had made this mission clear, they were going on a suicide mission.
“Sergeant Kostya! This is a message from Lieutenant Katsen.” A soldier said as he handed Kostya an envelope.
“Dismissed.” Ordered Kostya.
The soldier saluted and hurried away, Kostya opened the envelope and read:
