Random yap thing, but sometimes I genuinely forget that I'm a fanfiction author and that I don't have to write like I'm trying to challenge Shakespeare LOL
And I know that sounds weird, but because I went through the whole thing of writing long stories, like the fantasy AU's and M@TWS, and for those I treated them like actual books? Especially MLITD, since it sort of was an actual book by definition, but at the same time, it's fanfiction, and it doesn't need to be entirely poetic, it just needs to be comprehensible enough that the readers aren't wondering what it means!
That completely depends on the story type/style though! I've found that since writing more short form works, I'm still using the longer styles, when in reality all that does [In terms of my writing abilities] is make everything feel forced and tense, and takes the simplicity out of certain scenes that need it!
This is why I find writing styles to be important, because they can really alter how a story is perceived. So while some may want certain stories to be poetic and hold deep meanings, they may find that for others, just keeping it simple works better! After all, it is not how many pages you write on, it is what is written on those pages that makes the difference!
And for anyone who ever thinks that they can't get the words right, or even for things like art and design: Just remember - it isn't always going to be easy. It's not meant to be easy, but that is what makes it all so beautiful. And even if you think it doesn't look/sound right, . , .. Because in the end, it is something. And that something can sometimes be the thing that turns into the greatest thing you never would have imagined.
That got a bit motivational at the end there, haha!! But yeah, I'm experimenting with new styles, and just wanted to say something about it because I had never really thought about it until now!!!
