Mystery writer Emily Crewse Kalka/Fantasy Writer Yvonne Monroe (Same person, just different names for different genres...)

According to my mother, I've been making up stories since I could talk. Usually, to get out of trouble, but then again, it's likely in my blood. I come from a long line of storytellers from the Ozarks. 

Anywho, I started writing stories down at the ripe old age of 9 and since 14, I've dreamed of being a professional writer. I took a detour into journalism (I needed a regular paycheck, as small as it may be) and have spent the last 16 years working in news media as a reporter and copyeditor, mostly in Seoul, South Korea, though I never stopped writing fiction.

I'm currently a small-town newspaper reporter (which provides tons of inspiration for this wannabe mystery writer... soon to be wannabe cozy mystery writer) in Oklahoma, where I live with my rascals of pups Pippin, Poppy and Violet.
