Since before I started school I would write short stories, and my goal was to be a renown writer.

I was 11 when I first read Eragon and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. When my brother informed me that not only did this book contain magic and dragons, but that that the author was only 15 when he wrote the first draft of Eragon I was hooked and Christopher Paolini became my hero. I have now read and re-read Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance, I no longer know how many times.

Years later I find myself still thinking about this story. When not studying I find that I spend much of my free time imagining my own character in the mist of Alagaesia with Eragon and mainly Murtagh. Considering that I spend so much time thinking about the story and how I could fit in my own character with the least amount of change to the original story as possible, I decided that I might as well write it down, and maybe someone else could enjoy it too.

While I'm attempting to write Dunei in a style as similar to the Inheritance Cycle as possible I have also taken a little inspiration from my other favourite book series—ASOIAF, True Blood, Cassandra Palmer, The Legend of Drizzt—as I have been told a few times that my story is dark. Though I guess I like dark.

I no longer want to be a professional writer so please remember that when reading and don't hold the writing to that standard.
