Hello! You can call me Sharon or Ari, whichever you prefer - I go by both in the online-o-sphere. My pronouns are she/they.
I am a queer, Chicago-based writer, archivist, and volunteer librarian. I love Jane Austen, horror movies, and cultural preservation.
Writing has been my passion since middle school and I studied creative writing as one of my undergraduate degrees. I've studied fiction writing in both the US and in the UK and have published three short stories in anthologies; I also had an original 10-minute play produced. I would love to tackle an MFA in fiction in the future. I also have a background in film, where I've written and produced several fiction, mostly horror, short films and one solo documentary. I took my knowledge of archeology and excavation to graduate school where I received an MA in Museum Studies.
While most of my original fiction leans in the sci-fi/fantasy/horror realm, I have loved Jane Austen since I was 12. In 2023, I even spent a week in Bath, doing Austen-inspired travel. My Modern Austen adaptation series has become a huge part of my life since it began. I plan to adapt multiple Austen novels, and might even consider other classic literature someday along the road as well!
I am considering taking this series to Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing, but have no concrete plans as of yet.
