I enjoy writing.  Writing at its best is an art form which connects and transforms both the reader and the writer. 

I wrote poetry and short stories when I was in elementary school, just for fun.  I stopped for some time, and then I started seriously writing poetry again in college and gained some recognition as a local poet in Ventura County, including winning a regional award. A few years ago, I realized some of my poems were outlines of stories from my heart.  

Like so many writers, I enjoy reading. Some of my favorite authors are Ray Bradbury, Lois-Ann Yamanaka,  Piers Anthony, Graham Salisbury, Sharon Creech, Michael Grant, and Margaret Atwood.  I cannot list all my favorite stories, but one of my favorite stories ever is The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle.  Would you love to be friends with a unicorn? I do.

I reside on Maui, my beloved home, with my husband of twenty years and my lovely son and daughter. Have a beautiful day.
