"There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." Ernest Hemingway.

One of my college professors had that quote hanging on the wall. She would point to it and say if we wanted to be truly great writers we had to learn the reality of what the great Ernest Hemmingway was saying. As an eighteen year old girl I didn't quite comprehend what she was getting at. Sit and write until I bleed? The very idea sounded insane! By the end of the semester I understood. In order for a piece of writing to be great the writer must write what they know; otherwise the entire piece is a lie. I try to incorporate that concept into whatever I am writing. If I am not pleased with something I won't post it. This sometimes results in long periods of time between updates. I won't apologize for that as I refuse to give you anything but my best...anything but a piece of my soul.

If you are a follower of my work you already know I never write something just for the sake of writing it. Every word has a purpose. I once had a reader compare my stories to a puzzle. Each chapter is a different piece of the puzzle and it isn't until the end the bigger picture is clear. That is one of the greatest compliments I have ever received and, if I do say so myself, an accurate comparison.
