I'm nearly 28 years old, and am admittedly an incredible geek. I fell in love with high fantasy as a child, and have been determined since the age of fourteen to complete a fantasy epic of my own. I am probably one of the biggest Tolkien fans around, and yes, I've read the actual books, including The Silmarillion. I first conceived "Reign of Darkness" when I was fourteen, and originally had a copy of it on figment.com. Eventually I had a finished draft, but then Figment went away, and I lost my draft due to corrupted backup files. Since then I have been working to rebuild it, and have gone through many different revisions as I developed my skill. I must confess that I am among other things a hopeless romantic at heart, so my writing may include some sentimentality.
