Hi everyone! I’m alive! I’m sorry I haven’t posted or updated Evocatus in just about a year now, life got in the way big time but I’m happy to say I’ve got things sorted out for the time being. The next Halo: Evocatus chapter is just about complete. It’s about 30 pages long, and I was debating whether or not to roll the next scenes into this chapter, but I think I may hold off and make the next chapter shorter to hopefully fix my abysmal upload schedule.

Thank you so incredibly much to my loyal followers who’ve waited extremely long for any kind of update. This story means a lot to me, and I absolutely plan to finish it, no matter how long it takes.

You may also see me going back into previous chapters and making some minor changes, mostly to wording/dialogue/sentence structure. Eventually, I want to release the complete version of Evocatus online for free, as a love letter to the Halo games I grew up with.

That’s still a while off, though. For now, thank you again for all the support and messages. I read all the comments and really like the ideas fans have given me, so if you suggest something it may end up in the final version in some shape or form.

Again, thank you so very much. It’s insane to me that my little Halo fanfiction side project can get to several thousand reads; it really means a ton to me. The next chapter should be up within the week after I finish proofreading, so give it a look if you’re interested.

Thanks all, and stay safe out there
          	☮️

@Crysanthemancer Hey, it's so good to hear from you and I'm glad you're coming back. There's another friend that I know on this lovely website who'd stepped aside from writing. But is now coming back slowly. I hope things had been going well for you IRL, and I can't wait to see what the next chapter folds. I hope that some of my ideas I've given you last year will be in the next chapter? If not, I completely understand and I hope I can still give you ideas for future chapters and potential sequel to this lovely Halo Fanfic.
While you were in Hiatus, your story had given me an idea to talk one out when I talk to myself.
Anyway, I can't wait for the next chapter and I hope we'll get more this year or the following. Also, I hope you have been enjoying a lovely summer and I can't wait to hear from you soon.
          	  Peace

Hey, I saw your message through my email and I try to reply to you. But it didn't work, so I'll say it again on here.
I don't think so as I only know the basics of this website. As for my writing strategy, I really didn't had one as I just went with my gut and knew what I could about the story. But now I'm using ChatGPT for help with that. Though I won't be writing it out right now cause I just want to focus on writing/reworking on a story that doesn't have too much struggles or roadblocks to write.
Though I would like your help on some characters if you don't mind. Cause only I have the Sangheli, Serian, and Tibone Kidyard. I would like other characters that aren't a Ongoy or Jiralenheim.

So, the Halo story I have in mind is a story where a Sangheli warrior that is an orphan and is raised by a San Shyluum. While growing up and being mentored, this male Sangheli warrior believes in what the Covenant is doing is the right thing. Until one day, when he fights in an campaign as an Elitie minor on a planet from RVB named Chorus. He fights well throughout the campaign, cutting through the Federation and the Rebels. Until he encounters a demon, then after an intense fight, the warrior gets the upper hand by slashing through its glass helmet with its energy dagger. When he's about to make the final kill, he resists cause he truly sees who's behind that glass mirror helmet and starts to question whether he's doing the right thing or not due to the fear he sees in the human Spartan eyes.
After this, he gets arrested and is banished to a prison/forgery encampment, where he makes some friends and is forced to build destructive weapons for the Covenant's treacherous war. Until one day when a squad of humans find the place and try to take what they can to fight against the Covenant, but also find any evidence that could help them to win the war. So, the Sangheli warrior and his friends, which is a Serian like a Sangheli and Kid-Yard fight against the humans and destroy the facility.
Due to his actions, the Prophets allowed him and his friends to come into the Covenant, but they must served under a Shipmaster. WHo's secretly a hunter for the Prophets when it comes to loose ends.
This is the idea for the story so far, it might change during the process. Also the events in the story will take place before MCC, where it has the games from Halo: Reach to Halo 3. Cause after that, I'll envolved the aftermath of the war but in a different way then it originally goes for the Arbiter and Sanghelios.

Oooh, I like that concept, I’ve never read a story with a Siren before. Have you done any storyboarding or written anything out yet? I think Wattpad has a tab where you can make basic outlines for stories, with things like character lists that let you plan out their basic personality traits and goals. It’s been a long time since I’ve used that feature though, so I’m not sure if it’s even a thing anymore.
I’m curious to know what your writing style is, as I’m trying to experiment with different methods. If you want the advice, the form that works best for me is to ahead of time think of certain impactful big scenes and get those ordered out (but not written down), then to just write with no plan everything that happens between each big scene. I find it helps to make the story feel more organic, because it’s almost like you as the writer get to experience things alongside your characters. I almost never plan out dialogue, and just let it develop naturally between whoever is talking. I’ve also noticed that in writing freeform between planned scenes, you can sometimes get a better grasp of your story’s own themes, or realize new ones.
This has been a very long word spew, but in short, I’m excited to read your story if you decide to write it, and I can offer advice or experience if you ever need. Have a good rest of your day!

Hey Joseph! Good to hear from you again :) A modified version of your idea is in the final cut, I think you’ll recognize it when you see it. I’d love to hear your original Halo story you’ve thought out, you should write it down and post it! I hope you’ve been doing well, it’s nice to hear from someone again after so long. Thanks for staying interested in my story for all this time; I hope you enjoy the next chapter when it drops, and I’m always open to more ideas and feedback, particularly for a sequel (although I already have one planned, it’s a secret though). Take care, and good luck with future writing endeavors!

Hey this is Joseph and I just wanted to let you know that I sent you an email regarding a couple of suggestive ideas for the next chapter. But if its too late then at least I tried. Hope you're enjoying your break before going back to college and I hope you're staying cool.

Evocatus made it to #1 on the #covenant tag? That’s amazing! Thank you all for reading and reacting. Updates are still coming, and I have all the next chapters mostly mapped out. Right now, I’ve finished with summer class finals and I’m taking a very needed vacation before returning to the grind next semester. The next chapter is close to finished, so stay tuned :)

Joseph112348

I just wanna say I love the chapter that you published yesterday and I understand of what you wrote for your authors note. I just hope we'll get another chapter real soon as you've left us on a interesting cliffhanger as always expecially when the Flood has arrived on High Charity. Anyway I hope life's good and treating well.

What’s good Sangheili enjoyers? Finally I’ve reawoken from my stasis chamber and posted the next chapter of Evocatus. Thanks for the patience and continued support so far, I hope this next chapter lives up to expectations. There’s still a while more for this story to go, so hopefully you can continue to tolerate my nonexistent upload schedule. Again thanks so much for the feedback and continued interest, see you on High Charity

Hello there this's Joseph112348 and I just wanted to ask you a couple things. 1. What's your email as direct messages on Wattpad is no longer available. 2. When will the next chapter of your Halo Fanfic be uploaded as I'm patiently waiting and dying on what happens next.

Crysanthemancer

Hi, I’ve finally got access back to this account after weeks of wrestling with Wattpad support. The new Evocatus chapter just dropped, it has some decent action and (in my opinion) good character moments. My email for this account is crysanthegum@gmail.com, so if you want to reach me just go through that. Thanks a ton for being a fan. I see your story has been updated too, I’m going to read it and I can give feedback if you’d like

College for engineering is absolutely no joke, writing has been extremely slow lately. Good news is today is finals, so until I go back for summer school I have more time to focus on Halo: Evocatus. Next chapter is close to finished, and it’s another giant 40-ish pager. Never expected to write effectively a full Halo novel: I just broke the 300 page total benchmark, and I probably still have another hundred pages to go. Anyway, keep an eye out, the newest part will be coming soon!
