I rarely do announcements, but growth is worth celebrating.

Today, The Grieving Prey, my Open Novella Contest entry made it to the longlist.

I didn't make it last year, but I did this year.

It's weird in a way and my brain still can't grasp what it means, but I'm glad the judges saw something, maybe a spark, in the story. It's never easy and there were moments when doubt and procrastination took over and I stopped writing and simply stared at my draft. I know other writers I met through the ONC also struggled to meet the deadlines, find motivation/inspiration and sometimes the offline world won over the online one.

I'm grateful to the judges and the Ambassadors who run the ONC, who've sacrificed their time and energy to make this contest work, and the many wonderful writers I've met through the ONC, both last year and this year.

Thanks to the Open Novella Contest, for the past two years I've gotten the opportunity to sit down and write, address my weaknesses and craft the best story I could. It's just immense gratitude on my part and appreciation. <3

@EvelynHail Aw, thank you. XD We always aspire for more, to be better, and you really inspire me on Wattpad to try more things, write bigger works, practice more techniques. You're already so skilled, but I always see you trying to improve and it's awesome. I hope to see you and Rainer on the short list too.

To infinity and beyond (with tons of hard work XD ) <333

Hi, thought id send a hello, through here

CreoAstra

@LaurieLeworthy Really sorry for the late reply. Yeah, time is a screwed up concept lately. Everything feels out of whack. Hopefully, things get better.

That is the plan, im thinking its more of a timescale issue, also focusing on the start of the first book, i think has derailed me a little, i will get back to it, lots of other things to occupy my time at the moment, which is probably not helping..

@LaurieLeworthy Oh, blocks are a tough one. Sometimes it's an emotional block, other times it's lack of time/motivation/ideas. I hope the feedback you get through the club helps bring the original spark back. <3 Fingers crossed, the muse comes back. :D

@xu_neko No problem. XD I've been meaning to get back to you, but haven't managed to write something I'm confident in sharing or polishing. This is another learning opportunity for me. <3 Thanks for hosting.
