I'm a writer whose work has been published in The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Vibe, and The Atlanta Journal-Consititution, among other publications. I am the author of two books: Luther: The Life & Longing of Luther Vandross (HarperCollins, 2004) and All I Could Bare: My Life in the Strip Clubs of Gay Washington, D.C. (Simon & Schuster, 2008). I have also taught writing at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and Northern Illinois University. I hold a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland at College Park.
