Hi everyone, here's some KOTLC news and my take on it. If anyone wants to discuss this with me, feel free! Or if you completely disagree, do so in a civilized and unbiased manner.
Yesterday, 2/16/2024, Shannon Messenger announced her "9.5"th book, Unraveled. According to Simon and Schuster, Unraveled is a "can’t-miss installment of the series is told entirely from Keefe’s POV and contains crucial clues about truths buried deep in the elvin world."
This is my judgment now - and while people are welcome to disagree with me, I want to be honest.
What this initially feels like is Shannon's attempt to expand the KOTLC series even more and since she's an author, she will get a lot out of it. And especially if "Sokeefe" takes up the majority or a significant amount of the story, because romance nearly always attracts readers. If this happens, I am done.
Now, even if this book is good, it keeps Shannon Messenger distracted from the arguably more important task, which is finishing Book 10. This series has gone on for 9 books and finishing it should be a priority because of all the loose ends that are always left.
Reconsideration for Shannon Messenger: It's better to finish up Book 10 and tie up all the loose ends there instead of doing it in small increments and dragging out the plot. Then it's way easier to write a book "9.5" and less annoying for a reader to wait for years for a series to end.
Your opinions and judgment are always welcome, but please don't say "I'm taking a side" or turn this into a heated debate. This is simply my take on Unraveled given everything we know now (not a lot), so there's still the chance that this book is actually worth it.
