Stephanie Carroll

I'm the author of Victorian historical novel "A White Room" and the founder of Unhinged & Empowered Navy Wives & Girlfriends (unhingednavywives.blogspot.com). I'm currently working on three unpublished projects that include historical fiction, science fiction, and nonfiction.

My goal as an author is to write fiction that moves people. I expose the deepest parts of my soul through my fiction, things I can't reveal to anyone else in any other way. It's not something everyone can see. Only those who are understand will and they are the ones I'm looking for. Those are the people I want know.

As a reporter and community editor, Stephanie Carroll earned first place awards from the National Newspaper Association and from the Nevada Press Association. She holds degrees in history and social science and graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fresno. 

Her dark and magical historical fiction is inspired by the classic authors Charlotte Perkins Gilman (The Yellow Wallpaper), Frances Hodgson Burnett (The Secret Garden), and Emily Bronte (Wuthering Heights). She also writes science fiction and nonfiction, including the blog Unhinged & Empowered Navy Wives & Girlfriends. 

"A White Room" has been featured in Shelf Unbound, Navy Compass Magazine, and in various newspapers and blogs in addition to live news and radio across the country. It was also chosen as the Best Cross-Fiction Novel of 2013 by USA Book News.
