Carlfin Montevilla

There's this line from Taylor Swift's Reputation album prologue that really got stuck in my head for a very long time since I read it. It says, "We think we know someone, but the truth is that we only know the version of them they have chosen to show us."

It made me think of how people perceived of us on how we interact with them. They think of us on the way of how we treated them and we also treat them by the way they treated us. It's a fair share of thinking that you must be good or bad for that person depending on how they treated you too. But what about those people who just became a part of your life for a short period of time? And yet, they perceived of us on how they was told about you by those people who think they know you so well. Whether it's good or bad, it will definitely affect on how they see you. 

And that's one of the reasons why I love writing so much. In a valuable way of expressing yourself, you know that putting everything into a creation of a writing lessens your frustrations about life. About your anxiety to the world. About how imperfect this world is for you. About how bad other people can be for you. Because for me, I can always create a story where I am who I am and the rest of the world can still spare some good for you. 

This stories are my creation. A world that I know will never be true but at least in this stories, I know once in my life, I did something right.
