“My dearest Micajah, at the time of you receiving this I will assume in the spirit of optimism that we have won the war we are starting a new nation free of oppression and tyranny. However, I regret to inform you that I will not be joining you, Lawson, and Stanford in creating our government. I well know despite the doctors’ best efforts that I will soon become part of a statistic of fatalities in the American Revolution for Independence. My death will not be in vain however, for my life is one for the revolution, and I have no regrets knowing this fact. I have decided upon accepting my untimely- though could a death ever be timely- death that I wished to write a final address to you. A goodbye if one wanted to be grim. You well know me to be an anxious person, but in an attempt to leave this Earth in a tasteful way, I will set aside my inhibitions considering death and accept my fate as I hope you will when the time comes for you. Basque, I have considered you the love of my life for a great deal of time now, and feel as if it were in my best interests to clear up some issues. You have considered yourself undeserving of my love numerous times and expressed such, but it is I who has been lucky to have you in my life. On your issues with repressing your negative feelings, it has been my honor to assist you with your self acceptance, never a burden. Please Basque, never regret anything you’ve done concerning me and our relationship. You are indeed the best thing that is in my life and I would have nothing replace you. Do not tear yourself up over my passing, please go on to do the amazing things I know you can for this world. Have all of the children you’ve always wished for and take the love you’d give to me and keep it for yourself. If nothing else, listen to me on this and love who you are. If somehow the beliefs of my church are incorrect as I believe many to be so, and I manage to slip into paradise by some feat of divine intervention, trust that I will (RIR)

inform your mother of the wonderful man her son came to be. Once you’ve had enough of this mortal plane, raised all of the children you wish to have, and made your mark on this world, your judgment day will come and if there is a fair God in this universe you will find yourself in paradise and receive his most wonderful and honorable member . If not, we can suffer together for eternity and make Lucifer himself wish he were never brought into existence. I could ask for no greater partner in crime, and no different a best friend and soulmate. And that is what I believe us to be, undoubtedly. Do find yourself a place in this world that makes you happy, and do make sure my wife and son are taken care of. Further, if I am correct in believing my wife to be carrying another child, do tell her that I quite like the names Micajah Jr. and Jane.
Stay stubborn and ever abrasive my love, and love yourself as much as I love you.
Your favorite Frenchman and forever soulmate, Nathaniel Hancover
