1) Whenever I write I think of a concept. with my most recent book I have not only a concept but a planned plot twist. Regardless something like “Freddy X Bonnie high school AU” or “Bonnie X Freddy rockstars” is like a basic concept that lets the reader know what kind of story it could be.
2) don’t try to compare your writing to others, it will stress you out and make you feel bad because I used to do that and felt inferior because my friends’ books were getting more attention than mine and I was a bit jealous. As long as you love what you write, that’s all that matters.
3) if you start feeling like writing the book feels more like a job than fun, you might be nearing burnout. I often write for weeks at a time and then start to burn myself out to the point I take a hiatus. Make a schedule and stick to it so you don’t get burnt out. Write on one day and the release the chapter another day.
4) if you want to make the book and then publish it, that is fine too. In all of my stories I have made the story as I go because I get new ideas and concepts as I write, the bad thing is that inconsistencies pop up and can cause some problems in the story.
5) Don’t be afraid to branch out from a niche. I am a Fronnie writer mostly but I have some other ideas in my drafts that I will start after I finish my current book.
6) I would recommend doing one book at a time as to not burn yourself out even faster. I used to have like 5 works in progress and it was a major stress for me but now that I’m focusing on one I can give better quality stories.
7) Don’t listen to the haters, write what makes you happy. Fanfics or anything like that is purely for fun and anyone who tries to belittle or bully you is just being bitter. I hope this helped! If you need more I’m always willing to talk and help anyone!
