It’s his story, his legacy, the man afore rurik sires, was a creature of the sea. Whether this knowledge of truth was remarkably real or not, had yet to be tested, but the stories he’d had heard of this man. The vast tales, the fascinating obsession his community held of him, was astounding. jaded green eyes, dark and unwavering, stared at the crashing waves. the drowning of the sea, the pelting droplets of rain thrashing against the material of his clothing, left him feeling .. strangely at war. Upon turning, the barest movement of his head shifting to his right, and there the professor was spotted, steering his boat.

Angry were the clouds, and as if the sea too, was angry at their intrusion, displayed distaste through crashing waves. Such an act, vivid communication from the mouth of earth was nothing new to rurik. There was a task at hand, a job to get done. so, when his gaze locked with the marine biologist, his feet moved on their own accord, despite the chilling wind disrupting his balance, the purpose to reach the male across him was still in act. Rurik’s white locks were a ray of mess, wet with rain, they stuck to his temple, covering his thick lashes. but the moment he stepped within hearing distance, and closer, over the crashing waves, and angry sea storm, the son of man spoke with intrigued clarity.

His name was anything but average , sounding so alien to Anertz, even though his own name was very strange to other people. He gritted his teeth unconsciously while keeping all his senses on Rurik.

The man was speaking of things so foreign, so unreal. It was like a heavy rain of realization falling onto his shoulders. As a scientist, he felt reality had taken an ironic twist to laugh at him. It also served to understand that there was so much more out there in the universe left to discover. Humanity was taking baby steps towards knowledge. Anertz wasn't even sure if he could help humanity unravel the secrets of the ocean — it could be dangerous for the ocean's integrity.

/ Is he coming for me ? /, he thought, feeling a chill down his spine.  / Hades ...? / Everything was blurry in his mind. He felt like a child for the world was, again, full of mysteries to discover.

The sea roared outside of the boat. Anertz knew of its vengeful intent. It did want him to take away lives. It had tried to take over his body and use him to lure humans to their demise for harming its ecosystems. He always resisted — he was no murderer. Although, he knew some day he wouldn't be able to fight back. It was difficult, painful and tiring.

" I only know that the ocean has claimed me and I am not the owner of my body ," he spoke in a soft tone. " Life has been good to me, but this is an obstacle I don't know if I'll be able to tackle."

something occurred in that split moment. one could say the changes he was catching with his sharp eyes, was freaky but truly, it was just the nature of the professor’s powers seeping through. It made rurik wonder if this man was actually aware of the ocean speaking through him in a depth quite terrifying, yet so fascinating. but If truth was what the professor wanted, then he’d give the other just that in return for the answers he craved.

“Fine,” rurik agreed, “my purpose is .. complicated, but you may call me, ╲ rurik. ╲ I came in search of many things, things that belong to the ocean, and heaven above, but you wouldn’t understand that, would you? things of the earth? things .. that creep in the darkness and haunt the innocent. what do you think lurks in the shadows, anertz? the demons, or mankind?” these words, of utter darkness and speculation, should not have been uttered, but truth had the other demanded, so truth had rurik given. his jaded green eyes bore into that of the male, staring intently with a grim expression marred upon his pale skin, “I kill those who ruin the innocent. I bury them in their graves, and deliver their souls to hades. Now, answer me, do you know who you are, professor? who you truly are.”

The feeling of uneasiness triggered a signal within his body, activating the millions of bacteria in charge of making bioluminescence. Small circles and lines of light appeared all over his bare arms. The blue hues were like a whole galaxy on his skin. More patterns of bioluminescence appeared on his body, but it stayed covered by his clothes. His eyes — the swirls shone brightly, menacingly. It was a warning of sort, even if Anertz wasn't intending to attack the stranger.

The stranger spoke softly and calmly, things Anertz didn't know how to interpret. He wasn't giving him any information either, so what to make of this meeting?

He gripped the wheel with one hand, enough to keep the vessel going into the correct direction.

/  A lover? / , he thought, actually grinning at that. That was a way to put it. He sometimes felt like THE actual lover the ocean, while others he felt like an ignorant child sailing wild, untamable waters.

" If I say yes, will you tell me who you are and why you came here ? ," he spoke as calmly as he could, being aware of the popping lights on his body. He really wasn't hiding anymore, wasn't he?
