Hi Readers,

I'm pleased to present chapter 38 of "Mokpo, We Go!" I am really happy to see so many engagements and overwhelming responses to this story. You really don't have to be part of the NCT Wish fandom to enjoy this story as it can be read as a standalone story by itself.

The chapter was too much, so I split it up into two parts. I knew that I was being too ambitious to finish this story, but I want to do this properly, so there will be more chapters added to my story. At this rate, maybe it would become as long as my story, "Heartbeat Hell" with 63 chapters. I guess that would be my signature style then. Nobody is complaining.

This chapter focuses on mainly Sion and his worries about joining the team. He couldn't get himself to say yes to joining the Mokpo Wish team and go against Chaehee's original wish for him. Ever observant of Sion, Sakuya immediately recognizes Sion in viral dance videos and wonders if Sion is dancing again. Even more surprising is that Sakuya knows Ryo!

Lastly, our final NCT Wish member, character Daeyoung, is introduced to the story, only in passing. His timeline is matching up with Sakuya's timeline. It's not clear whether Daeyoung will join "New Heelz" as their newest team member. Will Sion go back to the "New Heelz" team? Those who are a fan of Daeyoung will need to be patient as Daeyoung will come into the story eventually.

Do you think my story is complicated enough? I love it! Jiwon is also sprouting with ideas for the Mokpo Wish Team while Wonbin tries to encourage Sion to join the Mokpo Wish team as a friend.

The one thing Sion cannot overcome is Chaehee and her wish for him to become a dance teacher. It's a betrayal if Sion wants to dance pro. Is there a way for Sion to make a breakthrough so that he can truly follow his heart, and perhaps still stay loyal to Chaehee's wish? It's complicated for Sion. Will Sion be able to fill the position for team captain of Mokpo Wish before Yushi and Ryo come back to Mokpo?

          	Dramas!

Hi Readers,

It's been a while! I still haven't caught up to all the comments, but I will!

For Wattpad's 19th anniversary, I have tagged the users I am the closest to and also if you have left me a genuine comment recently, I tried to also tag you in the anniversary. Hint: If I didn't tag you and you leave me a comment on my conversation board before 30-NOV-2025, I will also tag you for the anniversary. I am not sure if we both will win prizes or is it just the tagger? Nineteen years. I wish I joined Wattpad sooner.

I have a lot of random things to write. In the "Better Homes & Gardens" magazine, December 2025 issue, 16% of people read for pleasure. Apparently, that number plummeted 40% from 2003 to 2023. Yes, people don't read anymore, but guess what? A 16% of them still do and it's our job to capture as many of those 16% out there who might be interested in our work. It's not zero so there is still hope, but then I hope our works bring readership back up again. Hearing other people use AI at work to write their communications saddens me. I will always be the do-it-yourself type of person. I was testing with Meta AI though to make videos out of my pictures, which is a bit creepy. My dad can't even tell who is the real me.

I am also a bit sad that the hinge came off of my laptop cover lately so my laptop is kind of broken! What! I'm considering trying to fix it myself with a new hinge or buy a new laptop later. This is crazy that the hinge just came off as I was adjusting my screen angle.

I'm disappointed that the teenfic.net mirror website (caution-spam/info risk) published all my Wattpad works there. I can understand why any author would want to unpublish their work because they post everyone's work there from Wattpad. I'm too broke to start any lawsuit.

Lastly, for readers in the USA, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday! I basically had a food coma and well, I had an exhausting day just baking potatoes and sweet potatoes, not even a main dish.

AsianStorysketcher

@ddgraypdf Yes, teenfic.net like a zombie that doesn't go away! If they get shut down, they will just re-open again in another country that does not have strong copyright laws.

AsianStorysketcher

@DeniseLu Yes, with the holiday season coming up, I guess I should expect business to come. Yes, I need to find some time to turn off this laptop and see if I can take it apart to fix the hinge on the laptop cover.
Yes, teenfic.net is mirroring the Wattpad website so they extracted all the works and displays it on their site, which makes the work copyable and stealable. The only way to stop that is to unpublish your work and because it's a mirror website, the work will also be gone from teenfic.net. I heard that website was shut down in the past, but they keep coming back, hosting their website in countries where copyright law is not strong. Yes, they just take the info from Wattpad and display it on their website so they don't do anything manually, just copy all of Wattpad's database.
You are an amazing writer as well when English is not your second language. I'm impressed. English was not originally my first language, but it became my first language as I grew up. Let's continue on with our passions as there is a lot to do!

@selena20598 Thank you, bestie! Hope we win some prizes.

Yes, it's 16% but not 0% so there's still hope alive! It should never be zero because I'm a person and you're a person and it would never be zero if we are on Wattpad and reading works. Even out of Wattpad, I'm also reading so hope that number will improve for the next generation. I hope my vision is still good later in life.

I need to find some time to take my laptop apart. For now, I will not touch it and it works fine if I don't touch the screen angle too much.

Yes, with teen fiction, I hope nobody actually goes to that website because it's full of suspicious advertisements and spam. Overall, I'm afraid they will also take your information. Our works are there and can be copied as there is no block to copy it and also the formatting is bad, but readable.

I hope nobody is supporting this teenfic.net website. They should just come to Wattpad to read the original work.

Thanks! I ate a lot and still eating leftovers! Yum! My potatoes are a hit since there was no leftovers as everybody took them home.

            Yes, see you soon!

Hi Readers,

I just want to shout with glee when I publish another chapter of "Mokpo, We Go!"
Chapter 37 is now published with lots of thought into my writing.

I have received feedback that I lack figurative language in my writing. Therefore, moving forward, I tried to sprinkle some figurative language here and there. I will eventually edit past chapters with this mindset. I admit, I'm not the type of person to go overly imaginative when writing figurative language. I like to watch the scene unfold like a movie instead with observations. This is a challenge for me.

However, I think the results look pretty good from my perspective. Let the formation of the Mokpo Wish team begin! It could be a small team, but everyone has to start somewhere, right? Jiwon still has to resolve her drama with Yushi, but at the same time, she will need to figure out exactly what happened to Sion and why he quit dancing. These two men are taking space in Jiwon's mind though Jiwon is more focused on Sion since she could not figure him out.

A great team needs the right people. With Jiwon and Wonbin supporting the business side of the business and Riku as the person in charge of their dance videos, we're just missing some dance team members to make this an overall strong team. Yes, Jiwon and Yushi will have to work together and will it be possible given their awkward relationship? Is anybody still holding onto Yushi and Jiwon as a couple?

There's still a lot of unknowns with starting a potential business with Mokpo Wish. We'll dive into that some more in the next chapter. Each member of the team has their own challenges.

I hope the story is still interesting for you as you become invested into the team. I thank everyone for their feedback and interest in this story. I also added a few more polls until Chapter 10. I'll do this a little at a time so it's not overwhelming. This week is Thanksgiving holiday week so I'm unsure if I can write more than one chapter, but I'll see how it goes.

AsianStorysketcher

@selena20598 Thanks, Selena. I didn't want to overdo the descriptions so I think a sprinkle of it is good so far.

I know, I had to address the elephant in the room: Sion, Jiwon, and Yushi. To really get everyone to be committed to the team, they will have to work out any hesitations and obstacles.

Indeed, it's not easy to set up all these characters in the story just for this moment. I love how it all came together like this.

Yes, I can't wait for the holidays, but I'm probably going to read some more stories on Wattpad instead as there is so much to do still on Wattpad. Also, my Wattpad premium is almost over and I barely did anything with it.

@AsianStorysketcher I’ve already read Chapter 37, and I really enjoyed it! You can definitely see the growth in your writing, especially with the added figurative language—it blends in really well with your usual cinematic style. It feels natural, not forced, and it brings even more life to the scenes.

I loved seeing the beginnings of the Mokpo Wish team forming. The dynamics between Jiwon, Yushi, and Sion are getting even more interesting, and I’m really curious to see where things go from here—especially with Sion’s past and Jiwon trying to figure him out.

The business side of the story is also fun to follow, and I like how each character has their own challenges. It makes the team feel much more real and layered.

Thank you for putting so much thought and effort into this chapter. I’m excited for what’s coming next, but please enjoy your Thanksgiving week and don’t stress about updating. We’ll be here whenever the next chapter arrives!

Hi Readers,

I need to make a second announcement because blessings do come in pairs (people who understand Chinese culture know what I mean, heh- double everything!). The wonderful @selena20598 has spotlighted me in her Conversation board as a "Thoughtful Supporter" with an "Insightful Reader" and "Kindness and Warmth" badge along with an "Supportive Commenter" award.

This is definitely going into my brag book.

I have never expected such praises and recognition, but this is really touching to me that I am seen that way. I think people who are selfless and prioritize others over themselves are automatically heroes at heart. The moment you start to care for others more than yourself brings incredible meaning to your life.

I could have finished my "Mokpo, We Go!" story by now if I just didn't bother interacting with others on Wattpad, but I choose to spend time supporting others rather than writing my own story ever since I participated in my first contest, WITW (What in the Wattpad?) contest, this past August. I found new meaning in my life and it's not just about my story. BTW, I'm almost done reading WITW stories in my backlog! I'm probably at the tail end of it now.

I won't repeat the acceptance speech I gave over there in this conversation, but feel free to check out @selena20598's board and follow her as well because she has a very beautiful heart inside and I am deeply touched by everything she writes. She herself should be winning these awards, not me.

I'm not one to need specific awards or attention like this, but when it naturally happens this way, I deeply moved by it. These are all signs that I'm on the right path and I'm doing the right thing, so thanks for bearing with me and seeing me in a positive light.

We all have limited time and energy, so let's all use it well!

AsianStorysketcher

@CarmenJohnson599 You're right. I think every author is different. Perhaps what the person was saying is for those "serious" authors who treat it as a livelihood maybe. Or who knows what Wattpad used to be before I started using it. Maybe the culture was different. People seem to hate any random comments on their conversation board (I don't mean spam ones though I guess spam could be any type of unwanted comment). Whereas I like the social interaction part of Wattpad. I was looking at nothing on my board or comments for many months so I think I'd be even happy if a spam comment came through. If only Wattpad doesn't glitch because I find it annoying to use the app anymore to view and comment.

@AsianStorysketcher I'm sorry that someone told you not to bother other authors. Personally, I like to be bothered. Sometimes it provides a much needed break.

@selena20598 For sure, there's an announcement as this is such an honor. Thank you so much again! I think I am like my father, who always want to help people. It think it's in our genes. Well, I help to a certain extent of course. I do what I can with the time and energy that I have.

I remember when I was studying Wattpad, an author said not to bother authors because they are busy writing and have no time to reply or read anybody else's work so they can concentrate on their craft. That's why I was a bit cautious on Wattpad in the beginning not to bother other writers to let them focus on their work. Turns out that this way of living, supporting and writing, is fun, and of course time consuming, but I like it so far. This is probably a good topic for "What in the Wattpad?" book.

Thank you, as always, for your support! Let's continue to support each other and walk that "flowery" path as the Koreans say.

Big Announcement (rather late)

My story, "Heartbeat Hell" incredibly moved on to Round 3 in the Amby Awards 2025! How amazingly incredible for a newbie writer like me.

I call myself newbie because I haven't published anything on Wattpad prior to this story. It is the first award contest that I ever entered and the biggest one at Wattpad with the category of "Fan Fiction" and "Romance".

Ironically, I was recently mulling about how my writing could have been majorly improved and how embarrassing it is to submit my work to a contest when it is not the best I could do, but I didn't want to lose the rare chance to enter into a fan fiction contest at Wattpad so I took a stab at it.

Also, today is the real Chenle's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHENLE! He has brought me so many blessings with his quirky self and his comments about heart flutters inspired a whole 63 chapters of fictional drama from me. This story would not have happened without him as my male lead.

Despite my flaws, I feel incredibly honored to be advancing to the final round. I know my luck will stop here because there is no way I see myself becoming a Grand Favorite winner and I'm already content with being in the semi-finals. I am my harshest critic.

In round 3, my story will be read in its entirety and will be fully judged on creativity, originality, hook factor, characters, quality of story, and technical writing. At the minimum, I hope the judge enjoys my story as I'm proud of what I created. Winning isn't everything, but hopefully it will bring more interested readers as that is my ultimate goal in Wattpad.

I'm also proud of the writers that I recognize to go to Round 3 as well. It's always exciting to see a familiar name and I offer my deepest congratulations to all authors who made it to Round 3 on the lists.

For those writers who did not make it to Round 3, I hope this is not a huge discouragement because I want them to remember the feeling of making it into Round 2 and be proud of themselves.

@ddgraypdf Thank you so much! I'm over the moon right now in disbelief.

@EmberTong Thank you Ember! I honestly don't think so. I saw a lot of "improvements" needed so while there is a small possibility of winning, I definitely won't expect any win and if I did win, it's like some sort of miracle. Hm...interesting observation you have of me. I definitely want to do my best in whatever I do no matter what it is and this shows also in my writing too. I really want to show my best as much as possible. I won't say I'm perfect, but I will work in that direction. I can't wait to read more of your work so let's keep going! Thank you, again!
