This is a tad bit random, but I have a fantasy short story about demon summoning and a protagonist named after an office supply. I’m planning on entering it in a writing competition at my school, the due date being Wednesday. If I post it as a story on my account for the weekend, would anyone be interesting in reading and commenting on what they think is working and what isn’t? (Just want to know if I should go through the effort of posting it or not.) If not, I’ll probably post the finished piece anyways.

Shockingly we managed to find a tree. And my mother did not kill us. Funnily enough, my parents got my brother a bonsai for his birthday in June. It is currently sitting on our bathroom counter with his cactus, my two cacti, and our shared fern.

A word from a person who tried watching Riverdale (and gave up in season 3 because there was no continuity and had turned into a cringy fantasy mystery that didn’t make sense In The Least): besides that fact that I am More Than Pissed with the fact that Jughead is not asexual, when canonically he is...why tf was Veronica actually able to win over the cheer squad from Cheryl? Cheryl had a third of the time that Veronica did, as she both started the —what even was it, a dance off? — and ended it, and yet in Cheryl’s TINY segment she displayed waaaaay more flexibility than Veronica, something I thought was very important in cheerleading...
Besides the fact that it doesn’t actually make any sense: a) at this point Jughead and Betty should be famous considering what they’re up to, b) how is Veronica owning a speakeasy that also doesn’t sell liquor, c) its really uncomfortable to watch kids flirting and dating each other, and then their respective parents doing the same thing, and d) the increasingly high sexualized manner of the show. It once was balanced out, sorta, but it’s just gotten worse as time goes on.
IKR?! I really liked the first season, albeit the somewhat nutty dialogue, and I suffered through season two bc I was hoping things might get better, but I found myself literally skipping through whole sections of the episodes. It felt like it had gone from an artistically filmed and written mystery to some psycho teen show where violence and relationships were the only plot lines with weird occultist fantasy cults thrown in...it lost any continuity it had once had.
