Right, I've finished updating all of the books I've decided to. It's a bit difficult at times to know where to draw the line, so who knows if I've been too conservative or too liberal, or both by turns, but hopefully this will do and I won't have further issues going forward. All the masterposts for the books that have been abridged (plus the now-missing Wincest Oneshots book) are up on my page here, though I kept notifs off for those in an attempt to keep from spamming everyone's feeds more. Not sure if/how much people get notifications for me updating chapters, but sorry if anybody has been spammed with those; I promise it's done now.
As implied, all of the books that I've taken fics out of are now marked 'abridged'. Wattpad is notoriously awful at consistently showing up-to-date summaries and covers to everyone equally, so who knows when/if everyone may see it, but all affected books (the JayDick Oneshots book, the JayTim Oneshots book, both Broken!Verse books, and The Sex Tape Series (now called The Abridged Tape Series)) now have an 'abridged' sticker on the cover.
Also, as promised:
- there is a table of contents in each affected book
- TOC has an explanation and which fics are only on AO3
- chapters are marked as well for easy reading/finding which ones you can read without having to remember titles from the TOC
- links are in every missing fic chapter under External Link for desktop users
- all links have been tested (chapter links and masterpost links), that they work and that they go to the correct place
- I kept summaries and a preview in each missing fic chapter; tried to make previews as long as possible. Unfortunately most are still very short, but some are pretty substantial, and some are even basically the whole fic just minus the smut, so I feel a bit less like ALL of my content is gone. Still hate the 'you have to go elsewhere' thing, though, it's obnoxious as a reader, but...IDK I do get easily paranoid and I truly can't tell if I am or not, it does seem like an unpredictable risk that my account could disappear and I don't want that.
So anyway. As said, it's obnoxious, but I've tried to do everything in my power to make it as easy as possible for readers to still access my works!
