I enjoy nonhuman and LGBT stories (why??) because, I find that there is so much closer to home issues being dealt with within them, very odd I know but their perspective on things we take for granted is very refreshing and an eye opener. 

Or maybe I could just be a creepy heterosexual person but I don't care.

Oh yeah, I have a few works up my sleeve but I'm not rushing it lest I ruin it.
