Anyone else here a heavy plotter and world-builder? What softwares/apps do you use to keep all your notes and wiki organised? I use Notion, and here is a preview of what my wiki looks like: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-tier-benefit-126361354 You only need to log in to patreon and follow as a free user to see the post, but all my Royalborn patrons are invited for full access to my Notion wiki. I've also tried other tools like Scrivener but found it was not as customisable and limited in terms of functionality, but I'm curious what tools are working for others!
@-evenstar- Oof that sounds like it might be TOO much fun to play around with XD I need something simple and distraction-free but with just enough freedom and customisation to arrange things around the way I need them to look. @AlmightyPenn I've also heard good stuff about world anvil, but yeah, at this point I don't need a wikipedia so much as a space where I can add in and pull out information when and where I need them. Like 90% of my wiki are stored in databases and presented through filters, so it's easy to change things around across the board if I need/want to.
@AM-Prabeswar I keep my stuff on world anvil, though it's not really an organizational tool so much as a wikipedia page for all your background info. For my plotting notes and actual chapters I've been using campfire since 2020 but currently looking at alternatives as it looks too clunky for my liking especially as my worldbuilding gets bigger.
@AM-Prabeswar I use Obsidian but mostly because it has an offline feature and I'm temporarily living somewhere where the network connection's quite unstable. It has excellent customizability but annoyingly everything requires plugins or CSS and just general tweaking around to get things to look the way you want it. Everything looks like a webpage with a whole list of links on one side, so limited navigability unless you're willing to spend hours googling for vault templates, fiddling around with codes, finding and installing plugins, etc. It's no issue for me because my notes don't go as deep as it seems yours does.

This short story is a reimagining of a local folktale, JAKA TARUB AND THE SEVEN APSARAS, about a man who steals a nymph's shawl and eventually ends up being the patriarch of the kingdom of Mataram. I always thought as a child ... huh, am I just tripping or did he not manipulate a woman into having a child with him? No one gonna talk about that part?

Hello, I’m a long silent reader of your series since back when it had a different title. Sorry to post on your wall like this but I recently read Powerless and Reckless by Lauren Roberts and I am annoyed to say the least, as I noticed a **lot** of similarities to the QK series that I wonder if you are aware of. I know you didn’t copy the Powerless books though obviously because yours was posted on wattpad years and years before Powerless even came out.

Hate to add to the fearmongering, but another major part is the reason behind the gov conspiracy, and the fear of their kingdom being weakened and prone to incursions/attacks if they didn’t maintain the conspiracy. A dead ringer to your own words. I had to check when your books were posted on the website as I wasn’t sure at first who was copying who.
There are more but those are the ones I actually started noting down once I realized there were so many similarities. I don’t know if it’s all coincidence since there’s no such thing as an original idea any more, but a whole list of coincidences?? Well, I though I would let you know anyway as I loved your series so much, and Powerless just read like a Temu copy of it.

How long should a chapter be, and how do you decide when one ends and a new one begins?
I've had this in my Q&A so I've shared my tips and a screenshot of my process at https://www.patreon.com/posts/q-when-to-end-117617261 ... but I'm also super curious if anyone else has a different technique I can borrow??
@AM-Prabeswar I also don't pay attention to my word count! Though in my case my chapters tend to fall on the shorter side, generally ending when I've hit some kind of point in suspense or dramatic moment. But I really like the idea of setting chapter goals, that would definitely help keep the meandering to a minimum.
I tend to figure my chapters mostly depend on the circumstances example if my characters are preparing themselves for a gala event then I start the next chapter with them arriving at the venue. Your welcome to take a read through any story available written by me for formatting ideas if you like, length of a chapter is entirely your choice and if you have a desire amount of words you to have per chapter I personally try to aim 2000 or something like that hence why most start on a day of the week lol.
