grant douglas ward is a hydra agent within shield. he was one of the many parasites causing havoc with the hydra uprising. betraying the true family he had, along with killing members of his family. ward tried to bring back hydra's hive from the dead, but would end up being killed by phil coulson.
just know, that ward cannot take responsibility for his own actions, as proved on agents of shield. as all he has wanted is power and this has been done by dropping fitzsimmons into the ocean, killing coulson's girlfriend, torturing bobbi morse plus more. all to be the leader of the new hydra, his hydra.
