Like a good friend, Natsume stayed silent as Isamu spoke, listening very carefully to everything the other boy was saying. By the end of his friend's rant, Natsu actually felt a little bit better about himself. There was actually someone, this Taz guy, who had it worse than him. He felt a little bit guilty because he was feeling better because of someone else's pain, but he didn't know Taz, so what harm would it do? "Wow.." Natsume said eventually, pursing his lips. "I didn't know you were such a Casanova, Isa." He commented, cracking a smile when the time probably didn't even call for one.

Noticing Natsume's slight pause, Isamu wondered if telling his friend about that so soon was the right choice. However, his doubts were cleared when he finally received a response. Isamu averted his eyes and blushed, scratching his cheek sheepishly. "Thanks." Isamu's blush didn't vanish even when the questions came. "It's Keita, but no, not him. We broke it off a long time ago, and there was this guy, Taz, who I probably almost married, if not for some complications, and the fact that I met my husband, Osamu." The boy looked dejected for a moment, like he had a heavy guilt weighing on his shoulders. There was a smile when he mentioned Osamu, but he was too distracted with what had happened earlier to really think about his husband. Isamu pressed his lips into a thin line and looked at the floor. "Taz said he still loves me... but I keep breaking his heart and it hurts to see him so sad.. to know that I'm the cause for his unhappiness.." Isamu let out a long sigh and closed his eyes for a moment before he was looking up at Natsume again. "I want him to find someone that can make him happy, because I can't do that anymore."

All the smiling and laughing that had gone on earlier went away, and Natsume, after hearing Isamu mention marriage and a husband, felt his heart ache. "M-Married? Really?" The boy's voice cracked, but only slightly, only enough that he himself would notice. Natsume had never let Isa know, but he liked Isamu, for a long time. Even when they lived apart, Natsu would always find himself thinking about the blonde. But now that this news has been told, Natsume couldn't find it in him to be truly thrilled for his friend. However, he couldn't let Isamu know his feelings, because the boy would surely feel guilty if he knew. Natsume put on his best grin and pat Isa's shoulder. "Well, damn, look at you. That's great, Isa!" The boy got in close and put on a smirk. "Well? Is he hot or what? Is it that guy you told me about years ago? Some guy named Kaito or something?"

"I have too," Isa huffed, pouting his lip as he swat Natsu's hand away playfully. "I'm twenty years old, so of course I look more mature than I did last time we met." Isamu shoved his hands in his pockets, giving his friend a smile. "And my hair's not as spiky as yours, you porcupine." As Natsume looked around, the boy found himself taking a gaze around as well. Isamu was a little embarrassed when he had to answer Natsu's question, though. "Well, actually, I'm married, so I don't really live around here as often as I used to. Most of my stuff is at my husband's place."

It was a good thing Natsume was ready for Isamu's tackle hug, or else he definitely would have fallen backward. When he eventually pulled away from his friend, the boy took a good look at Isa. "You really haven't changed a bit," Natsu said, giving the other boy a smile as he pat his cheek. "Same old pretty face with hair as spiky as ever." Natsume then took a look around the house, noticing a few differences in the place; it seemed a bit vacant. "You still leaving here by yourself?"

With the room being so quiet and peaceful, there was no way for Isamu to expect such a booming voice coming from outside his house, much less when it was his own name being called. At first, the boy jumped out of his chair, poised for whatever may come through that door. However, once he realized that the person bursting into his house was none other than Natsume, Isamu lips broke into a grin. "Natsu!" The boy dropped all alertness and ran toward his old friend, almost tackling him to the floor in a giant hug.

"Ne," Isamu began, sprawling out on a recliner with his head over the arm of the cushioned chair. "Someone come play with me or something~"

Taz didn't bother to look at him anymore, ear flicking slowly at his words. He still loves him? After all this time? It gave him a sliver of hope— and, that hope was quickly crushed at the mention of marriage. That's right, he had forgotten. The other was married, and it wasn't to him. The cat still didn't look at him, and for a split second, there was heartbreak in his expression. Something that he quickly wiped away, no matter how badly his heart ached at the thought of someone else making the blonde happy. "Psh, I've left you countless of times, I'm sure you think illy of me. I assume that's what pushed you towards /him/." Taz couldn't bring himself to say Isamu's lover's name, he'd spit it out like it was poison on his tongue. With a deep breath, it was a little raggedy too, the cat shrugged his broad shoulders carelessly, finally staring down at the boy that stood in front of him. "He always wins, no matter how hard or little I try. He'll always win. Well, nothing I can do about it now, hope you two have a dandy future." His words were a bit bitter towards the end, casting his gaze elsewhere again. "Still calling me a baka, eh?"

Isamu didn't expect a kiss on the hand, so when it happened, he kind of just stared at his knuckles for a while before finally looking at Taz and bringing his hand back to his lap. Somehow, it seemed like Taz may have matured since the last time they met. Listening to his past lover talk, Isamu started to actually wish for the cat's happiness, because the man certainly didn't get it with Isa, and he felt guilty for that. The boy lowered his gaze and pursed his lips, rubbing the top of his hand. "I don't necessarily think illy of you, per se..." he murmured, glancing back up to meet Taz's eyes. "It was really fun being with you, you know. And I still love you, too, but we both know it can't happen again." Isa looked down at his left hand and at the ring that sat on his finger. "I'm married, Taz, to someone I really, really love." He felt bad telling Taz this and that, about his own successful love life and the one that he ruined for Taz. Isamu took a deep breath and stood up, walking over to the cat to stand in front of him. "I'm really glad I was able to love you, Taz, you baka."
