Authors when you publish a new book do u come up with the plot then publish a chapter as u write or write the whole book before you publish?

how crazy would it be to use Amaya from love island as a face claim for my Klaus mikaelson fan fic? So far she’s fitting for my character very well and it is JUST a face claim that’s how I imagine my oc looking as I write her.
