The one true successor

My name is Mello (メロ),  the older of L's two successors. As a pre-teen, I was raised at Wammy's House in England. After Roger told me that L has failed to choose either me or Near as a successor, I let Near have the job (instead of working side by side with him).
I left the orphanage and managed to find help from the mafia to find Kira myself.

Most people ask me, 'Why do you hate Near so much?? He's just so cute! and adorable! and innocent! and lovable! And cute! and soo cuuuute!'
Well,  let me go on a rant......
He's a complete copy of L!  It takes a lot to earn my respect and I Completely RESPECT L! I am not going to let that little albino sheep do that to him! And what's with all that emotionless attitude? He's so close to officially being called a sociopath. He sees the Kira case as nothing more than a game. He's apathetic to the deaths of not just to Kira's victims, but even to L, his own mentor. He hardly even takes the case seriously, even though the fate of humanity is on the line. He doesn't even care about catching Kira; he just wants to have fun playing his game!
