The moment her inner lining made contact with skin, Pointsettia’s wild, unanchored magic surged. Instead of floating away in nervous excitement, her inner threads plunged downward, weaving invisibly through Vespera’s skull, down the spine, and out into the dormant nervous system like a network of glowing, silken roots. Vespera’s eyes fluttered open—not with the spark of a returning soul, but with the sharp, deliberate focus of a velvet hat taking the helm. Pointsettia can finally look in a mirror (or a puddle) and see what she has dreamed of for ages: a genuine, living-looking witch wearing her proudly.

For centuries, Pointsettia’s existence was a cruel joke of nature—blessed with arcane power, cursed with a hollow crown, and perpetually rejected by every living head she tried to grace. That was until she found the crypt. Deep within the damp, forgotten stones of a subterranean dungeon lay the freshly fallen body of Vespera, a rogueish spellcaster whose journey had ended abruptly in the dark. Vespera’s body was intact, untouched by rot, and completely, wonderfully unoccupied. Seeing her chance at last, Pointsettia did not hesitate.

Pointsettia's life is a comedy of errors and heartbreak. Because she is a sentient, self-propelled creature made of magic, she refuses to sit still on a head. The moment anyone places her gently upon their cranium, her instinctive excitement causes her to wiggle, squeak, or accidentally cast a localized levitation spell that launches both herself and the wearer three feet into the air. Superstitious apprentices panic, seasoned archmages find her ticklish and unsettling, and local villagers tend to swat at her with brooms.

At first , he remained silent. He couldn’t risk speaking — not here , where anyone could be listening. Veridus had spent weeks keeping a low profile , slipping from one false identity to another to avoid being recognized or reported. Unbeknownst to him , the people who had wanted him dead were gone , cut down by a certain mercenary only recently. The news of the war’s end had yet to reach the colonies , leaving him trapped in fears that no longer reflected reality. At last , a quiet sigh escaped him. “ From Rubicon 3 , ” he replied flatly , his gaze drifting away from the talking hat to rest on CONTRAIL instead. The lenses of his glasses caught the light with a faint glimmer as he kept his voice barely above a whisper. “ That’s all I’ll say. ”

She inspected it up and down completely. The closest thing she could compare it to was a suit of armor knights wore. "This thing is really cool you said it was like a means to escape? Escaping from what?" She asked as her curiosity was spiking again. Pointless wars were also common back home for her and pointsettia did not like the needless death they followed in these places where the line between friend or foe blurs

To be fair , Veridus had never fought in the Jupiter War. He was far too young when it happened , still only a teenager — perhaps nearing adulthood , but not quite there yet. His true experience came from the Coral War , a conflict he considered meaningless in the grand scheme of things , nothing more than another battle fought for corporate interests. He held a deep resentment toward corporations , yet he still joined Arquebus and earned his place among the Vespers , believing they could offer him something he had long lacked: purpose. Instead , that promise became nothing more than an empty lie. “ That’s my AC , CONTRAIL , ” he explained , watching her drift toward the machine before following after her. “ It’s a weapon of war — a machine built for combat. That’s what it was made for. ” He paused briefly , his gaze lingering on the mech. “ Though recently . . . I’ve found myself using it less as a weapon and more as a means of escape. ”

I'm not familiar with a land of that name, is there lots of magic there? I like magic!* She says as she has the energy of a child but she also carried deep magical knowledge.

` ah, a magic hat. what fun, ` a peculiar being, so very full of life and vigour— for an accessory. how familiar, and also equally as abrasive as all others who shared the same trait. a slim finger raised as the hat approached, pushing it away by the hem. officious though he may be, loki had no appreciation for those who invaded * his * space. it was a matter of dominion, of superiority that others simply did not possess, human * or * hat.
` i am loki of asgard, ` the hand that had moved her lifted once more, flourishing as the god of mischief bowed ( although he was not certain such gentility was imperative towards items of clothing ) , ` be wary what slander you speak; i do not dress * funny * , it is the style of my own realm. what basis do you have to criticise, anyway? all you wear is yourself. `

He closed his eyes for a brief moment as she circled him like a restless child. A heavy sigh escaped him. He already knew he was going to regret this. “ Right , ” he said with a small nod. A portal opened beside them , summoned by Alpha. “ We’re going to Hell. I’ve been tracking an ancient relic called the Heart of Ruin. I need to find it before Malzareth does. It’s capable of opening a permanent gateway between Hell and Earth. ”

Before she calmed herself down "ok ok I'm cool I'm cool, lead the way!!" She says despite not having a mouth it looked like she was smiling brightly.

"Well I mean you don't have to wait for an emergency to drink it, but I'd figure someone like you wouldn't just drink it on a whim." She replied visibly happier now seeing him pocket it meaning he was keeping it meaning he accepted her gift. She smiles widely even if he was strange she was already considering him as her friend and to be honest she didn't care if he didn't see her in the same way. She called herself down "ok ok, I'm guessing you gotta go now right?" She asks figuring he needed to go

“ So . . . only use it when it’s necessary ? ” he questioned , slipping the potion into the pouch attached to his hip. Truthfully , he had never used a potion before , so a part of him remained skeptical. Surely she wouldn’t hand him something that could stop his organs from working , would she ? He doubted it. Someone as cheerful and bubbly as her didn’t seem capable of something like that . . . though he knew better than anyone that appearances could be deceiving.

"Vitality potion drink it and intestines stamina." She said proudly practically bouncing on her heels with excitement as he held it. "I know it's not much but I still wanna help you do I am giving that to you for free " she giggled softly with a big smile. She was so innocent willing to help him in this journey in any way that she could do the simple potion was practically the best thing she could give.
