The battle is not long, Barrek's wife killed, his son taken away, and he himself tossed into the Hunter's Forest where he must fight to live so that he can save his son. Raven the leader of the band of outlaws also trapped in the forest finds him and brings him to the cave of Exscale where he helps him heal and begs for help to reclaim their land.
