I walk back and forth nervously all around the salon.
Clenching and unclenching my fist over and over again.
I rummage the pocket of my pants and take out a ring.
Apparently, the custom in this town is to give a ring to your partner when you are in a relationship.
If you were to marry them, you hand them a blue feather. It's supposedly the highest point of love that you could show towards your partner.
What a peculiar custom yet somehow it's amusing.
That's why I'll give Rachelle the ring today.
I asked her out on a date and she agreed.
I told her to come to the salon at exactly 10 o'clock.
There's still 3 minutes left until the arranged time so I practice how I would give her the ring.
"I know that you've always wanted something like this. Hmm? How'd I know? I've been- No. That's not right." I mumble.
"Hey, princess. I wanted to give you this ring and-Too straightforward. Argh!" I ruffle my hair.
"Have it. I just happened to see-No. Just no." I sigh.
How am I supposed to bring it up?
I don't remember anytime that I became this troubled over handing a gift, let alone a girl.
I guess it just feels strange somehow?
Having been used to the custom of the city, I find giving a ring to be a bit to quick.
I don't want to make Rachelle uneasy though.
She might think that I don't love her and that's the last thing that I don't want to happen.
After my endless worrying, I heard the chime of the door rang and I stopped whatever I had been doing as I looked at the door.
There stood Rachelle.
"G-good morning." She murmured.
She looked different than what she normally was.
A Nordic dress, hmm?
She had tied her hair up and wore a little make up.
I couldn't resist smiling, thinking that a stubborn girl like her would groom herself for a date.
"Good morning, princess. I'm surprised. You look different than usual." I walked towards her and she rubs her hands together.
"Is... Do I look bad?" She blushes and grew more nervous.
"Quite the opposite, actually. You're even more beautiful than you already are." I smiled and kissed the top of her nose.
"Ah..." She just stared at me.
I grin. "Were you hoping for something else?" I tease.
"N-no! Of course not!" Her face grew red of embarrassment.
"I see. Forgive me, princess." I smiled and held out my hand. "Shall we go then?"
She took my hand, held it gently and nodded.
"Yeah." She smiled and we left.
We already planned the date the day before to go to this particular town.
The town is famous for having numerous farmers.
Of course, I know why Rachelle had chosen that place.
