(Alex's POV)
"Thomas." I whispered.
Groaning, he forced his eyes open, squinting at first.
''Thanks God'' I said letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding and leaped at him, hugging him. The hug made Thomas wince.
"Sorry—I'm just glad you're alive. You're lucky I didn't give you a big kiss."
Thomas pressed himself up into a sitting position, pushing his back against the wall.
''Then why didn't you?''
I turned my head to the right, hiding the smile that was creeping its way against my shoulder but then look back at him.
''But seriously''
''Ow!'' He cried out as I smacked him upside the head.
''DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!''
''Hey...'' Chuck said quietly as he entered the room.
''Hey'' I turned around and greeted him.
He didn't seem to notice Thomas until he spoke.
''Hey...Chuck'' His face lit up and a smile spread across his face.
"He's awake!" the boy yelled to no one in particular. "Thomas is awake!"
"Chuck, do you have to scream?''
''Yes, I should go and get Newt" he finally said in answer.
''Yeah, you do that...''
As soon as Chuck ran out of the room, Thomas closed his eyes and rested his head against the wall.
''So what's next?'' I asked.
''Figure out who's going, who's staying. Get ready. Food, weapons, all that. Then we go''
''Good that.''
