After what felt like eternal sleep we all wake up the warm sunny skies of Florida. The girls and I had gotten everything ready so we could spend our first day out at the beach. We got out onto the beach early, claiming our massive plot on the beach. I can't help but look out over the horizon and watch the beautiful blue water wash against the white sand.

I was woken from my trance by a beach ball smacking me in the face. "Hey Zac help set up!" Megumi shouted as she dropped several umbrellas onto the soft sand. The girls were laying their towels out as Lara, Tara, and Tiffany helped set up the umbrellas. I set the cooler down between us all with all of our gear. After a bit we were all set up as people started showing up. Bailey and Scarlet make a dash for the water. "Hey hold up, you need to put sunscreen on." I yell to them. "Don't need it, my hair will protect me." Bailey yells back as scarlet just looks at me and points to her scales, reminding me she's cold blooded and the sun won't bother her. I feel eyes on me as I hold the sunscreen bottle as the other girls let out soft coughs and "ahems" for attention. I sigh a bit, knowing what they want. "So who's first?" I say I get rushed by the over excited crowd. "Ok how about Tara first." I say, giving her a soft smile. She bounds over to me excited. She lays down onto the towel and gives me a sinister smile. "You don't mind if I undo this do you?" She teases as she undoes the string to her bikini. I roll my eyes at her and drip a few cold drops of sunscreen on her back. I see her jump a bit and I laugh. "Oh sorry about that, you didn't mind did you?" I tease back as I warm the sunscreen up in my hands before rubbing it up and down her back. Her soft skin and tough muscles were kind of fun to massage, if it weren't for her moaning. "Oh come on there's kids here." I say to her as she carries on with her teasing. "Hey thanks, i'll have to do you too some time." She says, winking at me as she lifts herself up and flashes her titties to me.

By the time I finished massaging everyone I was about sun burnt myself. I take a break and sit back and watch, slowly rubbing sunscreen on myself as I look out and see everyone having fun. Layla is burying Megumi in the sand, Scarlet and Bailey are on Lara and Tara's shoulders playing chicken, Tiffany is swimming laps and splashing about. Anna was the only one not going out and playing. I scooch over to her and gently poke her, breaking her concentration. "Didn't get enough sun screen? You were the only one who put sunscreen on yourself" I ask concerned. "No it's not that, I mean you would have done a better job at applying it than I would have but thats besides the point. I know it's nice out here and all but I can't help but see people staring at me, at my scars. I know you all love and accept me but it's hard to have fun when people look at you like a side show attraction." She says almost tearing up. I hug her tightly, gently comforting her. "It'll be ok. I know it's easier said than done but you really shouldn't think about it too hard. People will gawk at anything different like scars or even being a different species. You'll be looked at by hundreds of people but in the end only the eyes of the people you love will see the real you." I say as I give her a soft smile. I gently rub her hand as I hold her. "Ok, i'll go out. Just hold me for a bit longer." She says as we sit back and watch the peaceful paradise around us.

After several hours of playing we all meet up at our spot, everyone looking exhausted. "Who's hungry?" I say as everyone's face lights up as I pull out fresh cut watermelon out of the cooler. We all chow down on one of the sweetest, juiciest, melons here at the beach. "Hey Bailey what's wrong?" I ask seeing her stiff movement. She winces a bit as she turns to look at me. "I didn't think I could get sun burnt but I think I was wrong." She says smiling a bit. "You don't look sun burnt." Lara says as she places her hand on Bailey's shoulder only to be met with a loud yell of pain. "I told you so, now we'll have to rub you down with aloe when we get back to the condo." I say teasing her a bit, knowing she'll have to take it easy for awhile.

In the distance I see someone who looks oddly familiar. He was riding a small wave on a surf board. He looked at me through his shades and gave me a shit eating grin before mouthing "nice" as he surfed off, Corona in hand. "Was that my fucking land lord?" I whisper to myself as I watch two mermaids pop out of the water and push his board along the coast, disappearing into the distance.
