For the past week you had managed to avoid the group. You felt terribly guilty about what you had done to Joey and you also felt awful about coming between Joey and Chandler who had been best friends for a long time. You had figured that the group had already found out about what had happened which is why you were so keen to avoid seeing the group. The girls and Ross had called you on many occasions and so had Chandler but you had ignored all of their calls. Every time they came to your apartment building, you refused to buzz them in. You thought that if you gave Chandler some space he would be able to heal his friendship with Joey and you wanted nothing more for Joey and Chandler to retain their friendship because you knew how much it meant to both of them. Joey hadn't tried to contact you during the week that you had spent away from the group but you expected nothing less. He had every right to not want to see you again so you didn't expect him to try and contact you. You had kept yourself locked away in your apartment when you weren't at work since you didn't want to risk running into anyone but after a week of being trapped indoors, you decided to go out. You decided to go to Macy's since you thought that shopping would take your mind off of the situation you were in. As you were looking through a rack of dresses you heard a familiar voice that made your heart beat ten times faster. "Rachel you don't need to buy a new dress. You have a wardrobe full of dresses that you've never worn," you heard Monica whine.
You panicked when you saw Monica, Phoebe and Rachel come around the corner and head in your direction. You quickly looked for a place to hide but when you couldn't see anywhere to go, you ducked behind one of the racks and prayed that they wouldn't see you. "Was that Y/N?" You heard Rachel ask.
"Crap," you  muttered, without moving from your hiding spot.
A shadow cast over you and you instantly knew that they had found you. You looked up with a sheepish smile and was greeted by three frowns. "Were you hiding from us?" Phoebe asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I just dropped something," you lied as you stood up.
"Dropped what?" Monica asked, not believing a word you just said.
"Fine, yes, I was hiding from you," you mumbled, fiddling with your fingers nervously.
"Why were you hiding from us?" Rachel asked, folding her arms across her chest.
"I just didn't want to face you. I'm sure you've heard about what's happened with me and Joey and I just felt embarrassed," you answered.
"You should be embarrassed. What you've done to Joey is awful. We couldn't believe it when he told us," Monica said, disappointment evident in her tone," but I'm sure you have a valid explanation as to why you did this so why don't you come over tonight around seven."
"Are you sure? I don't want to run into Joey and make him uncomfortable," you questioned.
"Joey hasn't come out of the apartment since you two broke up so I wouldn't worry about seeing him," Phoebe said.
Your heart broke at her words. You hated yourself for what you had done to Joey and to hear that he wasn't doing well after the break up made your heart hurt. "Chandler's been worried about you too. He's been pretty down himself. I guess he thinks that since you've been ignoring him that you don't want to be with him anymore. So I'd maybe call him at some point," Monica added.
"Okay, I'll come over, but I should head home now. I'll see you guys later," you said before hurrying away.
You couldn't take their disappointed stares any longer. Your actions had created a large amount of tension and you were devastated by the fact that you had hurt so many people. The girls were clearly upset with you as it wasn't something that they would expect you to ever do. You were glad that they were going to give you the chance to explain but you knew that they still wouldn't forgive you for cheating on Joey. When the time came around for you to head over to Monica and Rachel's apartment, you couldn't fight the nerves that were erupting through your shaking body. Thankfully, Monica had the door open when you got up the stairs so that you didn't have to hang about in the hallway. The girls still held the disappointed looks that they had plastered on their face earlier on in the day. "Go and sit down, I'll bring you some wine over," Monica said.
You awkwardly sat down between Rachel and Phoebe on the couch and you silently prayed that Monica would hurry up with the wine. Thankfully, Monica came over to you within seconds and handed you a glass of red wine and then sat down in the armchair. "Go on then, explain everything to us," Rachel said.
"I was really happy with Joey. Really happy. I love him, there is no denying that I do. He was the perfect boyfriend but I fell for Chandler, and I didn't ever expect that to happen. It happened one night a little while ago. We were watching this horror film and he was just holding me because I was crapping myself and we had this moment where we almost kissed. It was then that I realised I had feelings for Chandler and he told me he had feelings for me. I guess I got caught up in all these feelings and forgot about the consequences," you explained.
"Is this thing with you and Chandler serious or was it just a bit of fun?" Monica asked.
"I love him Mon. I love Chandler," you answered.
"I love you too," a voice said from behind you.
You turned round and saw Chandler stood in the doorway. You stood up from the sofa and made your way towards him. "You love me?" You asked in disbelief as you got closer to him.
"Yeah I do. I love you Y/N," Chandler grinned.
When the two of you were finally face to face, Chandler cupped your face in his hands and pressed his lips to yours. Your lips moulded together perfectly in a passionate kiss. "I can't believe they love each other," you heard Rachel mutter," they actually look really cute together."
You pulled away from Chandler and rested your forehead against his but the two of you jumped away from each other when you heard a door slam. "Crap, I guess Joey just saw that," Chandler grimaced.
"I should go talk to him," you said.
"Is that really a good idea?" Chandler asked," he seemed pretty pissed."
"I need to speak with him at some point. It'll be okay," you replied, pressing a quick kiss to Chandler's cheek before disappearing across the hallway.
