"Didn't you know that both kings and queens are related to each other?" One young woman from the crowd whispered to another.
"Of course I do, Queen (y/n) and Queen Koral are sisters and King Yugo and King Adamai are brothers." The other woman responded with a duh face, wondering why her friend was asking her such obvious question.
"No Sherri." The woman face palmed. "They are all related as in they are all related by blood."
"Marianne, saying such things are treason!" Sherri hurriedly hushed her friend as the Eliatrope queen passed them by, giving them a small warm smile.
"But it's true, and I believe that I should be the one engaged to king Yugo!"
Marianne puffed out her breasts, putting one hand on her hip and the other on her upper chest.
"After all, I am a noble woman by blood!"
...
"My queen!" Your personal maid Orchid, rushed from behind to whisper in your ear. "Are you not going to punish her?"
You let out a small giggle, lightly patting Orchid's shoulder.
"You tell they most hilarious jokes dear!"
"But my queen!"
You hushed Orchid, silently putting a finger on your smiling lips.
"I am on my way to pay my mother her respects, tis the time to express formality!" You gestured towards the crowd subtly, trying to tell her now wasn't the time.
Orchid sighed, returning to her place a few steps behind you knowing that you weren't going to budge.
...
"We are gathered here today to honor the great goddess Eliatrope for giving us prosperity."
You gracefully walked down the aisle of the ancient temple, your formal garments swaying behind you. In your hands was a basket where people dropped their offerings as you walked them by.
"She, in all her beauty and grace, decided to use her great power to give us life and love."
The people began to kneel and bow their heads in respect, as you continued the speech.
"For that we must thank her for all she's done." You reached the end on the aisle, turning back to your people and telling them to stand.
"For those who wish to personally give their offerings to the great goddess and wish to see others send their's off, follow me."
You walked to the back entrance of the temple where a beautiful lake stood.
The lake was imbued with the Wakfu of the goddess, causing it to never dry even as it flowed into a waterfall at it's edge.
The flowers of the night glowed their beautiful light, making the scene almost mythical.
You walked into the lake till you were waist deep, letting go of the basket and clasping your hands in prayer.
"My people I ask that you send off your offerings with love so that our goddess may never weep. For she deserves a happy life for all she has given us."
The people silently placed their offerings in the lakes water with a small push. You could feel each and every sentiment that passed you by ; the love of a newly wedded couple, a mother who had just given birth to her first child, and an elderly man who had just lost his wife.
Then there was one bitter offering that sullied the spring's water.
An offering of hate towards another.
But that can be remedied.
"My Queen!" A lone woman spoke from the crowd. "Where is your offering?"
You remained silent for a moment to listen as the crowd became full of unrest.
Your hands unclasped and slid down to your sides in the cold water of the spring. The sky was an ever haunting purple, something that filled you with memorabilia.
"My offering is my tears."
"Your tears my Queen?"
"Yes." You laughed. "My tears
Though they may add little to the spring's water, I still shed them in hopes of allowing this spring to flow even a second more past it's lifetime."With that you turned back towards the crowd, bowing your head to them.
"If my tears allow this spring to flow longer, than my people and goddess can enjoy their shared happiness just a bit more."
"Oh how kind our queen is!"
"Praise the queen!"
You raised your head to see all your people on their knees bowing to you.
"Now now, we are here to be honoring the goddess not me! Let us finish this ceremony with the drinking of the wine!"
Ah the drinking of the wine is very special. The wine itself is made from grapes and fruits that grow along the spring. The wine is made by the original seven, excluding the Eliatrope Queen. It is their collective gift that the Eliatrope queen consumes in place of the goddess as she is the closest to her.
Orchid quickly paced through the water and passed you the golden and silver goblet.
With a smile you took a swig and gulped it down.
"Ah, poison I see. A little bit of Wakfu with it too?" After mumbling to yourself you gulped down the entire goblet and asked for more.
"Orchid dear? Mind getting me more or the wine? It's simply to die for this year!"
Orchid did as asked with a raised eyebrow before grabbing taking the goblet from your outstretched hand and replacing it with a full one.
You hurriedly gulped half it down before gazing over to the nobles.
"Would any of you like to try some? It's just tastes wonderful! Here Marianne, try some!"
Marianne's skin started to become pale as she looked down at her feet.
"I-I'm terribly sorry my queen but I will have to refuse ... "
The crowd gasped at Marianne's words as it is extremely rude and disrespectful to refuse the wine from the queen Eliatrope.
"That's too bad ... then why don't you have some Orchid? I want to share this wine with at least one person!" Orchid quickly agreed and took the goblet.
She was very excited as it was her first time being offered the goblet. You would have to apologize to her later.
As soon as she took a sip, she dropped into the spring and started breathing heavily.
"ORCHID!"
You rushed over and held her in your arms.
"The w-wine ... "
She muttered.
"It was poisoned ... "
...
