Part 33

Lars and the Off Colors we're still driving in space. Lars was recording in his captain's log. He explained everything about the ship and his crew, but he still couldn't wait to get back home. All of a sudden, a letter flies out of Lars' hair. "What now guys?" Lars questioned about his half gem friends. He catches letter and begins to read.

Steven:Dear Lars, how's space? Is it still big? You don't have to answer that right now, this is a letter. Since you're away from home, Me and (Y/n) thought we'd fill you in on what's been going on in Beach City. Everyone misses you soooo much.

Steven and (Y/n) were standing in front of the Big Donut and looked through the window.

(Y/n): Since Sadie's been busy with the band, no one's around to open up the Big Donut.

"Oh come ON! Are they STILL not open?!" Ronaldo walks next to Stevens and (Y/n). "I know Sadie quit a while ago but why the heck isn't Lars here to pick up the slack?" He groans.
"Uh, Ronaldo, Lars is in space." Steven told him. Ronaldo then bursts out laughing, "Good one Steven! I needed that!"
Steven and (Y/n) stare at Ronaldo in silence.
"YOU'RE SERIOUS?!" Ronaldo screams.
"Don't you remember when everyone in town was abducted by gems? Mayor Dewey had to give all those speeches about it?" Steven tried to explain.
"Do you believe everything the government tells you?" Ronaldo asked.
"We're the ones who told the government, Ronaldo." (Y/n) confesses.
"Wait, what? So that means..." Ronaldo couldn't finish his sentence. Steven nods at his answer.
"Is he in danger? Surrounded by aliens?" Ronaldo questioned. "I'm afraid it's all of the above." (Y/n) answers. "This is a nightmare... I'M THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE IN SPACE! WHY DOES LARS GET TO BE WHISKED AWAY INTO THE INFINITE COSMOS ON AN ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME? IT'S SO IRONIC IT HURTS MY SOUL!" Ronaldo complains. He falls on the ground and sobbing. Steven pats his head, "There, there..."
"Ronaldo! Lars is in space probably in danger with other dangerous activities around him and all you're worried about is your own selfish desires!" (Y/n) scolds. "I just can't help it!" Ronaldo cries. Then the former Mayor Dewey walks in. "Morning Universe and Ms Diamond." Dewey greeted
"Good morning." Steven and (Y/n) greeted back.
"Still not open huh? I guess me and the Big Donut have a lot in common, we're both empty inside." Dewey's face gloomed.

(Y/n):As far as local politics Mayor Dewey isn't mayor anymore. There was an election and Nanefua won with her platform of working together.

Back at Fish Stew Pizza with Nanefua, Jenny, Kiki, Steven, (Y/n), Garnet, Greg, Ronaldo, Pearl, and Dewey. They were all having a meeting on how they could help the town if there's another invasion.
"So, we are all in agreement, yes? In the event of a gem-related emergency, everyone should go to the newly designated shelters." Nanefua said.
"Me, (Y/n) and Garnet can take care of food rations." Steven offered. "Anyone know a good non-perishable brand of Chaaaaps?"
"We could also put some pizza ingredients on ice, just in case." Garnet suggested.
"We also need some bottled water just in case if an emergency." (Y/n) pointed out.
"That's a great idea, you two. We can ask all the local restaurants to pitch in food in case we have to hide for a while." Nanefua thought out loud. Dewey said that it would be a great plan, but he asked how they were going to spread the word. Jenny volunteered to drive Nanefua around while she uses the loudspeaker to warn everyone. Nanefua agrees to this quickly. Kiki and Pearl volunteered to go around the boardwalk to let the other businesses know about their plan. Greg offered to buy the town a telescope to put for the lighthouse for security. Ronaldo quickly volunteered to look out. He may not me in space, but that doesn't mean he can't at least look at it. This is beautiful! Ronaldo, Greg, you're on lookout duty. Kiki, Pearl, you're in charge of communication. Steven, (Y/n) Garnet, you record our rations. And Jenny and I will spread the word about the plan. Now, everyone is helping to make our town safe." Nanefua stationed everyone.
"Everyone, except me." Dewey spoke.
