Melody to Mend a Broken Heart

Naruto opens up the door for Hinata. The car ride home was a slightly uncomfortable silence and Naruto doesn't have anything to say. Hinata was more amazing than he thought, but he knows he would sound weird saying that. So, he doesn't.

Hinata on the other hand is confused, she didn't know if he liked her performance at the club. It made her sad, was it really that bad? She slumps down onto the couch, exhausted and feeling depressed from Naruto's lack of praise.

"Uh," Naruto stutters out, "I have some frozen pizza I can warm up."

"Sure..." she smiles, but her eyes flutter shut. She leans back, kicking off her shoes and curling up into a ball. Tonight was a drained her, and before Hinata realizes it, she falls asleep.

Naruto pre-heats his oven, the crosses over to the couch and sits next to Hinata, "I hope you like pepperoni.". he looks at her, "Oh..." Naruto notices that his friend fell asleep.

A warm smile curls on face, she looks like she did their freshman year on the LA field trip. He recalls when Hinata fell asleep on the bus ride back, and he stifles a chuckle. But, Hinata has an odd peace about her when she sleeps, and Naruto wondered how someone could look so calm.

Naruto gets up and walks around to grab a blanket from the closet. He chooses the light blue colored one then glidesback over and drapes it across her body. Then, he leans in.

It was instinctual, every time Sakura would fall asleep on the couch, he'd lean in and kiss her forehead. Naruto barely catches himself, jerking his head back away from Hinata. Stumbling and then landing hard on his butt, "Shit!"

Hinata jumps awake with the sound of Naruto hitting the floor, "W-What? Naruto?"

"Sorry! I tripped," Naruto explains, "I'm fine, just go back to sleep, Okay?"

"Okay," Hinata closes her eyes, pulling the blanket up to her chin, "Night, Naruto."

"Goodnight, Hinata," Naruto sighs and gets up. He looks at the time, it's nearly one in the morning. He goes and turns off the oven, and, reluctantly, goes to sleep in his and Sakura's... And he goes to sleep in his bed.
