Chapter 35: The silent scream

I'm so sorry guys!
I did NaNoWrMo and I thought I would have heaps of time before I went to LA to write the chapter.
4,000 words left with two weeks to go and I left it to the last minute.
I did this chapter on the plane to LA from Sydney, Australia so if there is any errors or nothing makes sense, blame me trying to stay wake during the flight. Also haven't had good wifi since I got to America and I'v been busy since I'm here for a school music trip.

Anyway, I want to acknowledge two people who have helped me a lot during this journey of a book, EveCrowther and Blakes100vamp. There are so many more of you who also help but these guys have been with me since the spark of the idea.

~One Week Later~

Third POV ~lobby of the lodge~

Guards of Auradon have invaded the area.
"Do you know why we're here?" One guard asked the other as they stood near the left staircase.
"I don't know, it's been kinda confidential" the other one replied "All I know is that king Ben was in danger"
"Then why are we hanging out here?" The first guard asked.
"Because we need to protect the ones who have been effected by this disaster" the other one replied.
"Was it Maleficent's doing?" The first one asked.
The second one shook his head.
"No, they haven't revealed it" the second one said.
"Then where is the king?" The first one asked.
The second guard looked up to a room on the first floor.
"He's up there, no one but the family and the doctors are aloud in there" the second one said "I hope he's okay"
"I heard rumours" the first one said "That the ultima beast was to blame"
"An Ultima? That old beast story? That's just a myth!" The second one said.
"Apparently its the, the doctors they have up there, specialise in mythical beings" the first one said.
"Well, the king is the son of king Adam, who was transformed into a beast" the second one said, "Don't make calls like that"

CJ and Harriet watched from afar as that conversation went on, Harry who arrived the day before sleeping on the couch next to them.
Harriet turned to her younger sister.
"Do you think Ben's going to be okay?" She asked.
"I..." CJ started, her voice isn't as confident as normal "I-I honestly don't think so...after everything"
"CJ?" Harriet whispered.
"It's been hard to talk about...but I think of what she went through" CJ said, looking away.
"Don't cut me out CJ" Harriet said, holding her little sister's hand "You can talk to me about anything"
CJ looks back at her sister sadly before looking down again.
"I may not understand you completely...but I'm able to talk and try to" Harriet whispered "I'm here for you CJ"
"...Harriet?" CJ whispered, confused.
"I know I haven't been the best sister, to either you nor Harry" Harriet started.
"I just-"
"You can tell me when you're ready" Harriet said, cutting off CJ "I don't want you to feel uncomfortable in anyway...you don't have to tell me now, I just want to let you know that I'm here for you"
CJ looked at her sister with surprise, tears forming in her eyes
"You...I..." CJ chocked on a sob "You have no idea, Harriet....what it felt like to be under someone's control, it was....horrible. Not only that , we were completely aware of what we were doing...I saw him hit Mal"
Cj's tears rolled down her face as she chocked on another sob.
"She and there was nothing i could do about it"
"CJ..."
"I just want her to be okay...after everything she's been through" CJ whispered "She had it the worse...now Ben...she, she just-"
Harriet hugged her sister.
"It takes time, that's all they need is time" Harriet said "They will be better, and they will be fine in the end"
CJ hugged her sister tightly back, safe in her older sister's arms

"WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?!?" Maleficent yelled in the lobby, the guards positioning their weapons at her.
"You are not allowed to-"
"My daughter has gone through this mess! I need to see her! Now!" Maleficent snapped.
"Maleficent"
Maleficent turned around to see Carlos standing there, looking very sleep deprived.
"Follow me, I'll take you to her room" Carlos whispered.
Maleficent nodded.
"But she's a vil-"
"She has a right to see her daughter who almost died!" Carlos snapped at the guard "She has signed a peace treaty and is honoured for the sacrifice she made"
"And that is what? Son of Cruella?" The Same guard demanded, standing in front of Carlos.
"She gave up her powers to save Auradon" Carlos snarled "Now back off!"
The guard took a step back in fear but nodded, Carlos leading Maleficent up the stairs.
