"Cheers to the end of finals!" The four of them clinked their warm dainty cups together, all was coffee but one was hot chocolate.

Radiant smiles lingered on everyone's faces, taking a sip of their long-waited drink soothing their jitters. The bittersweet flavour of pure chocolate devoured her lips, its warmth emanating throughout her entire body, but it didn't reach the place below the ribs.

It wasn't as lively as the smile on her lips.

"So, Sora," Sakura spoke up after putting down her drink. "Are we still invited to your funeral?"

He narrowed his amber eyes at her as he put down his drink as well. "No. Fortunately, they didn't. They only gave me a silent treatment by murdering me with their eyes and eventually cooked my favourite food for dinner."

"What the fuck?" Yui almost spat out her drink, glancing at the ash-grey haired boy. "That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard."

Sora only shrugged, lazily taking a bite of his slice of cake.

"Well," she sighed, curling her fingers around the warm beverage. "Good for you."

"We've seen your papers," she folded her arms. "And to be frank, it's still not good enough, honey."

Sakura gritted her teeth, fixing her gaze on the floor. "A-minus is still not good enough? What more do you want?"

"Sakura,"  the father glowered down at her beside her mother.

"What? I'm just saying," Sakura's voice wavered a little. "I got all the A's I could for the rest. Why can't you just appreciate my efforts?"

"Sakura, we've talked about this." She sternly said.

"Yeah, I know," she harshly waved them off as she took a step back, her voice strained a little. "I just don't understand why you want me to score straight A's all the time."

"It's for your own good, honey."

The girl lets out a bitter chuckle. "For my own good?"

"Yes, it's for your future. I don't understand what's so funny," she rose an eyebrow.

There was a small silence hanging in the air, and Sakura could hear something shattersomething inside her shattering.

"It's funny because all you guys care about is a bunch of papers," her voice cracked, quickly stomping off out of their sight.

"Sakura!"

She ignored them as she finally entered her room and slammed the door shut, locking the door.

She threw her bag to the side in wrath, feeling warm tears unsurprisingly stream down her face, quick small breaths leaving her lips as she stared at the barren floor.

Just why is it that when everything seems so perfect, something's definitely bound to ruin it?

Why is it that no matter how hard she tried, all of her efforts go to waste? Why is it that she's still not good enough? Why is it that they couldn't see that she's hurting?

She closed her eyes shut, ignoring the small knock on her door.

Why can't everything go back to normal?

"I'm tired of this.." She whispered to herself, letting more tears fall. "I'm really, really, tired."
