(Otis x Oona)
"Aw... Otis, it's so cute!"
Otis had done the best he could to hide the new thing he brought to work, but it was no use. Nothing could get past Olympia.
"It's no big deal," he shrugged, carefully placing the small, ceramic, calico kitten on his desk. It was sitting up straight, its little face tilted to the side.
"Yes, it is! I never knew you liked cats so much. I mean there was that one time when we were working with the kittens on the squad, and also when we were stuck in the computer with the kitten viruses, but they were still sooo cute! I wonder if there will be a kitten storm soon, and if we could keep some..."
"Olympia!" Otis interrupted her rambling, his arms situated behind his back. "It's just a cat, it's no big deal," he claimed.
Olympia nodded her head, finally agreeing with him. "Can I at least see it?" She awkwardly swung her ponytail from side to side slightly, as she moved her head.
Her partner let out a hefty sigh before caving, "Fine."
She smiled widely as she bounded over, carefully examining the adorable, miniature kitten.
"There you two are! Something very odd has happened," Ms. O informed them out of nowhere.
"Ms. O, when did you get here," wondered Olympia, since their boss was right next to them.
"Doesn't matter. What does matter is Jamie Jam has jammed up the whole town again!"
Olympia shared a look of disbelief with her partner.
"Well, what are you waiting for? GO," shouted Ms. O after telling them all the much needed information. "Oona!"
The female scientist almost fell over as she got yelled at. "Yes, Ms. O?"
"I need you to clean the lab. Oscar's coming to visit soon," Ms. O informed her.
"Right on it, Ms. O." Oona forced her best smile, panicking once Ms. O was out of sight.
"Where did I put that broom?!" The scientist was frantically searching the lab, and she finally discovered the cleaning tool. She spent the whole afternoon making sure that the lab was spotless, and finally she was finished. "I wonder where Otis, and Olympia are..." She ventured out of the room she was in to stand next to their desks. The broom happened to still be in her hands, and soon there was a bouncing plant out of control. "Ah!" She fell back against Otis's desk, as a couple of other scientists raced after the plant. Her heart stopped though when she heard a little clinking sound on the floor. Please don't have me have broken something... Please no... When she scanned the ground though, luck was not on her side like usual. There was what appeared to be a fragile kitten, that had broken into quite a few tiny pieces. She had no idea who it had belonged to, but the only option seemed to be Otis, but why would he have a ceramic kitten on his desk? That didn't sound much like him. She rapidly swept up the sharp fragments before anyone could get hurt. Her heart stopped though when she spied a familiar pair coming her way.
"Otis! Olympia!" She attempted to come across as cool and collected, but underneath her cheery voice was a hidden layer of guilt.
"Hey, Oona," Olympia greeted with a nice smile, but Otis was frowning. His line of sight was exactly where the figurine of a kitten once was.
"Uh... Oona, do you know what happened to my ceramic kitten," Otis hesitantly questioned.
"No, not a thing! What kitten?" Oona nearly tripped backwards though, as she moved further away.
