"𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠?"
Angel sat outside the school gates, her head buried in her hands, desperately trying to drown out the sound of Missy's loud chatter. The morning air was filled with anticipation as they waited for the school day to kick off, but all Angel could focus on was the relentless questioning from her friend. Missy was on a mission, and that mission was to pry every little detail about Angel's secret summer romance with Cory. It was as if the blonde had a radar for gossip, and right now, Angel was the target of her curiosity.
"Nope, sorry Jelly, I want all the details and I won't stop until I get them!" Missy declared, clearly enjoying Angel's discomfort. The nickname she had given her best friend years ago still made her chuckle, even if Angel hated it. It was all in good fun, but Missy was serious about wanting to know what was going on with Cory.
Missy declared, clearly enjoying Angel's discomfort. The nickname she had given her best friend years ago still made her chuckle, even if Angel hated it. It was all in good fun, but Missy was serious about wanting to know what was going on with Cory.
"Nothings going on between Cory and I, we've just gotten closer since Jordan started to mess around," Angel said, twirling her hair nervously. The blonde shot her a knowing smirk, easily picking up on Angel's fib. Whenever Angel was lying, she fidgeted like crazy, and this time was no different as she squirmed while denying any feelings for the boy.
Just as they were about to dive back into their chat, a loud voice interrupted them. They turned to see Nas shoving Missy's mum away before storming into the school. Laughter erupted from the other students witnessing the scene, and when Missy and Angel rushed over, Missy was on the verge of tears, shocked by her friend's harsh reaction toward her mother.
"Lend us a fiver, will you, love?" Simone asked, pulling her daughter into a comforting hug. Angel stood by, feeling a mix of sadness and anger. She felt for Missy, knowing she deserved so much better, but she was also furious at how Nas had been acting since joining the school with their old friends.
As the school day dragged on, Angel's frustration with Nas only grew stronger. It was one of those days where everything seemed to spiral out of control, and her friends weren't making it any easier. Just when she thought things couldn't get worse, she caught sight of Jordan dashing through the hallways with a hijab perched on his head. Without a second thought, Angel took off after him, her heart racing as she reached him just outside the administrator's office, determined to put an end to this ridiculous stunt.
"What are you playing at?" she snapped, yanking the scarf off his head and stuffing it into her handbag. Angel had always been the one to look out for Jordan, knowing that if his father ever found out about his antics, the consequences would be severe. But this year, it felt like Jordan was on a mission to get himself into trouble, and she was starting to worry that her efforts to protect him might not be enough.
