*Peter's POV*
(Y/N) and I began to hang out a lot after school in the weeks following that first day. Nothing has happened since she kissed my cheek a month ago. My hopes of her seeing me as more than a friend decreased more every day. She'd also been becoming closer friends to Sasha and Britney, and began going to parties that I wasn't even invited to. I found myself spending most Saturday nights in my Spider-Man suit patrolling New York while she attended parties at some jock's house.
Tonight is no different than any other Saturday, until I find myself on the roof of the building next to where (Y/N) was partying. Because the suit has the ability to zoom in, I am able to see (Y/N) chatting with a senior guy through the window. He's at least 6 feet tall, and completely muscular like a swimmer or football player. I can't bring myself to look away, and I feel creepier by the second. She is mid-sentence when he pulls her face into a deep kiss. I immediately look away as a heavy feeling weighs on my chest. I feel like I can't breathe, and I rip off my mask. I sit there for awhile, catching my breath and looking at the floor. I really was just a friend in her eyes. I really believed she was different. I get up after about 20 minutes of sitting in deep thought, put on my mask, and I jump off of the building. I use my webs to make my way back to the ground. I land in an alley about a block away from my apartment building. I begin to walk home, when I hear voices coming from around the corner behind the buildings.
"Come on, stop wiggling." One male voice states.
"Just a pretty little thing, huh?" Another creepy male voice chimes in.
"Hey! Perverts!" I interrupt their creep fest and shoot webs at the one guy, pinning him to the wall. He throws a few swear words and complaints, but my eyes are focused on the man holding down a girl. It dawns on me that he is trying to rape and/or mug her. I pick him up and throw him off of her, and he lands on the ground in a heap. He gets back up and tries to swing at me, but I shoot him with webs until he's hanging against the wall with his buddy. They both try to wiggle free, and I turn to help the girl. It's only now that I can see the girl clearly and recognize (Y/N).
"Aren't you at a party?" I ask before thinking.
"Uh I left early, but how the hell do you know that? You're that Spider guy aren't you? Spider-Man?" She asks, not really trusting me.
"Yeah I'm Spider-Man, but we should really get you home safely..." I state, grabbing her arm and leading her back onto the main street towards the apartment building. She goes silently, but pulls back when we're only 1 building away.
"Ok, how'd you know I was out at a party? And how in the hell do you know where I live?! I haven't even given you my address!" She questions.
Shit.
"Uh—well—I—" I begin to stutter, but her eyes widen.
"Your voice—Peter?" She asks, and I go stiff. I shoot a web at the balcony outside of her apartment, and grab ahold of her before I answer. She yelps as we quickly fly up multiple stories and land on the metal platform outside of her bedroom. She staggers away from me and stares with wide eyes. I nod slowly, and she comes closer and pulls the mask from my face.
"Ok, but you can't tell anyone!" I say defensively once she sees it's actually me. Her mouth is open in shock, and in that moment I remember seeing her kiss that other guy. I frown for a second, but she catches it.
"What's wrong?" She asks.
"It's nothing. I just saw something tonight..."
"What did you see, Peter?"
"Well I was on a building near the party, and I kind of saw you—" I stop talking, unable to find the words.
"Did you see Luke kiss me?" She asks softly.
"Is he that guy you mentioned having a crush on a few weeks ago?" I ask nonchalantly.
"Oh god, no! Luke kissed me tonight, and I shoved his horny ass away and left that party. How do you think I ended up walking home alone in the dark?" She explains.
"Oh! Oh—I just thought...nevermind."
"God, Peter! You're so clueless!" She groans angrily, and I stare at her, confused. She's never really gotten mad at me like this before.
"Uh I'm sorry?" I offer, and she laughs angrily. I try to back away, but it's a pretty small platform.
"Dumbass, it's you, ok?! I have a crush on you! It was small when we first met of course but now you're all I can think about! It just frustrates me so much!" She yells. I cover her mouth when I see a light go on in Aunt May's room one balcony over.
"Shh, Aunt May can't know I'm out this late. She's also under the impression that I'm not Spider-Man." I whisper, but inside my heart is pounding at her words. I pull my hand away, but don't break eye contact. I replace my hand with my lips, as I kiss (Y/N). Her hands tangle in my hair, and I keep kissing her like I'll never have the chance to do this again. She's grinning when I pull away.
"Wow." She whispers.
"I've been wanting to do that for over a month now. You literally drive me crazy, and you're so out of my fucking league." I admit. She pulls me into another kiss, and we are only cut off when I hear Aunt May's window open.
"Fuck, I have to go sneak back into my room before she sees I'm gone." I add, and kiss her quickly once more before gracefully shooting a web toward my window. I slide in right as Aunt May's head peeks out.
