Chris sighed deeply knowing his friends were not going to respond anytime soon. He couldn't help but think that maybe they were just joking around. That they were just messing with him to get a reaction out of him. But of course, his gut told him otherwise.

It's not that the surprise was the worse thing to walk on the face of the planet, no he was actually quite excited. It's the fact that they knew before he did. Maybe Scarlett was planning something huge to surprise him and he was just overthinking this, or maybe she wasn't even planning on telling him. Who knows really.

Chris began to pace around their shared place and a thought crossed his mind, maybe she was scared to tell him. Then he began to worry, maybe the reason she didn't want to tell him was because she was scared, scared of being rejected by him, scared he won't be happy, scared he didn't want this as much as she did.

If that was the case Chris could never forgive himself for making her feel that way. Never in one hundred years would he reject Scarlett. He loved her way to much to ever even think of hurting her.

Chris sat down realizing stresses out would get him nowhere. Chris reasoned with himself, he would just talk to Scarlett when she got back from her outing with Maya.

Chris instantly shot up when he heard the front door open. He watched as dodger and Bailey raced to greet Scarlett and Maya.

"Hey guys," Scarlett cooed as she bent down to play with their dogs. Finally noticing Chris standing behind the excited pups, she smiled at him.

Although Chris would love to say that he wasn't a stuttering mess after witnessing her smile, but he would be lying. His stomach flipped as a warm and giddy feeling rose in his chest. How she managed to do this, this far into their relationship he didn't know. However he couldn't wait to ask her any longer.

"Scarlett can I ask you something?" Chris asked quickly. Her smile never wavered and it was then did he realize she was holding something.

"Before you ask, I want to give you something," she replied. Chris furrowed his brow in confusion. He wasn't expecting to be given anything but his question could wait a few minutes.

Scarlett handed him a letter with a shaky hand and Chris took it carefully quickly noticing she was nervous. His heart dropped.

"Scarls, I need you to know that I love you no matter what. Okay? I love you with all my heart and nothing will ever change that," he replied while grabbing her hand and lightly kissing it.

He let go of her hand and opened the letter.

Although I'm standing right in front of you, I realized I could never work up to courage to tell you verbally. Whenever I tried to tell you, I would always back down. But now it's getting harder to hide as the days go on. But you deserve to know. And I hope you're as happy as I am to know that, you're going to be a father.

After reading the last word Chris looked up to see Scarlett holding something else.

"Its the baby's first ultrasound, I waited until the doctors were sure about a little Evans," Scarlett replied as Chris looked at her with complete adoration. Tears of joy brimmed the edge of his eyes and he brought his arms out to hug her.

"Aww Chris don't cry, you're gonna make me cry," Scarlett replied as Chris cried happily on her shoulder.

"I'm gonna be a dad," he continued as the thought settled in. He cupped Scarlett's face in his hand and kissed her.

"We're gonna have a family, Scarls we're gonna have a family," he continued joyously.

"I know, I know Chrissy," Scarlett beamed.

"Man with our killer looks our baby is going to be unstoppable," Chris commented causing Scarlett to laugh.

"You're happy?" She questioned, already knowing the answer to her question.

"God Scarlett, I am so happy," he replied.
